We all have our pet peeves, one of mine is a 1911 without front strap checkering.  To me it's just sad.  I've been wanting a 2011 in 9mm with full checkering, threaded barrel, suppressor sights, rail, etc.  Until now my only real options are buy an STI for $1800, or a RIA and then do the mods and get it close to STI territory by doing so.  

Then I saw this!  Can anybody confirm that new production RIA's are coming with frontstrap checkering now?  

I just got a .45 cs, no checkering on front strap. I just put anti skid tape on it, doesn't look bad and if I tire of it I just remove it.

None of them, that I can find, have checkering and that rail does not look like any ria rail, see how it protrudes forward on the bottom. http://armscor.com/firearms/tac-series/

The just announced Match series has full checkering, and that model has been around for awhile.  I've handled a couple in person, but none had checkering.  I'm just hoping that the checkered frames from the Match series are trickling down into others as well.
