I have a Colt Government Model, Automatic,Caliber 45,(as marked on slide) serial number 2625xx-C.  Probably 90-95%.  Can anyone tell me anything about the pistol?  Value?

My Clawson book on Colt .45 Govt. Models list that serial # as being made in 1953.





Value is impossible to ascertain without pictures, as to whether or not everything is original etc.





Please post some pictures those old Colts are nice to see.

That's it. I have a '53 also. All original and in 95% condition or better, about $2500, although there are not many of these left.

Pictures with markings will help. Also seeing condition and if all parts look original will help get a better idea of what you have.

I just picked up a 100% original 1944 Colt US government US Army 1911 for  $500, I was just offered $2500 last month in Montana. It functions flawlessly. It was used more than once in 1945! Ran 2 mags of Federal ammo through it. Needless to say  I Did NOT sell it. Too much history.
