Got a call from the owner of my local GS. He told me he would be having 3 pistols show up this weekend he felt I would be interested in. I was told they would be specd similar to the Pro I own except in a compact model. Not that it really matters other than for conversation, but I was told the gun was specd this way for the US marshalls when the FBI picked the Professional. It is a 4'' bull barrel with a officers frame in .45ACP. I have not been able to find any information on that, but I somewhat liked the idea of the gun from the get go.

I showed up there this weekend with no intention of picking the little gun up. After handling it however I was pretty impressed and ended up talking myself into needing a smaller 1911 for every now and then. 99% of the time I carry the Pro and have no problem doing so. However there is that 1% of times where I would carry a sig P232 appendix for social type events where carrying would be heavily frowned upon. I figure this gun would be much better to use instead of the P232 due to it being a 1911 design like I am accustomed to carrying.

This pistol started life as a compact RO that has been worked over by SACS. Going off the build sheet the GS owner wanted these to be specd like the US Marshalls issue pistol. Started life as a normal compact which was then sent to SACS for a action job, Novak sights, Ambi safety, SA magwell installed and blended, Refinish in FBI black and a 4 1/2# trigger job and my favorite addition, 20LPI on the front strap.

The fit is what you would expect from a production model 1911. Extractor was left unblended. Small cosmetic stuff that doesn't bug me. Barrel fit is very tight and it is a ramped bull barrel. The small officers aluminum frame leaves the gun very light in my hands. The added magwell is beautifully blended and gives it just enough meat for me to get my entire hand on the pistol no problem. It really feels great in the hands.

I did check to see what they did for the ejector and plunger tube. Both are installed correctly with pinning and staking. Not sure if the custom shop did this or if they come this way now. My TRP came with glued in parts.

Im in the process of ordering it some gunner grips like the one on the Pro. I believe the rear novak sight is a little high, indicating it is more than likely a 6oclock gun. I was able to shoot a magazine through it the night I picked it up. Seems like it was hitting high on the steel I was shooting at, but it was too dark to tell. If it is in fact shooting 6oclock then I will order a 10-8 rear sight to bring it down to POA/POI. So the end result should be something very similar to my Pro;).

Give me a few weeks to run several hundred rounds and I will post back with a report. Hopefully by then I will also have the pistol finished up with the matching grips and possibly matching sights.

So here she is. Once I get the new grips Ill get a new round of good pics.

If you don't mind me asking what'd this wind up costing you?  I've been toying with the idea of picking up a RO Compact and putting a mag well, new sites, hand checker front strap, undercut trigger guard, and a trigger job.  Pretty much everything yours is but substitute the Armory Kote for Cerakote because I can do it at home along with all the other stuff.

1700.

I overpaid. But I didn't have to wait for SACS to do their thing, and I threw my dealer who hooks me up a bone. I figure if I would have sent it off myself it would have been roughly 200ish cheaper.

Thing shoots so well that I really don't mind paying the extra since it has all the goodies I want on a 1911

Review is coming along.

Gun is doing great so far. Zero malfunctions and I have been using the stock magazine. Been trying to fine a Wilson officers mag locally with no luck.

Gun is set up for 6'oclock hold. That's slightly annoying to me and will have to be changed. So this gun will be set up identically to my Pro when finished with a 10-8 sight to bring it down to POA/POI
