1st post here on the 1911 side of things
I own an AO 1911 but always wanted a Colt
The price was right from grab a gun- $699
$100 Colt rebate so it was a no brainer to me
Picked it up today from my FFL

Cross posting these pics from GD

Only got to run 28 rds of 230 gr RN white box Win. through it yesterday
Not a lot of rds but it functioned perfectly
Buttery smooth

Only bad thing is I could only find 19 pcs of brass of the 28 fired
Thought I had the tarp I layed down on top of the leaves strategically perfect

That's a beauty!

I like the longer trigger, but otherwise a no frills set up.

Congrats. Cylinder and slide makes a nice drop in S80 trigger enhancement pack. I dropped that into my Delta along with a few other upgrades.

Thanks, I may check that out
An expert on the 1911 I'm certainly not, but the long trigger does feel better than the shorter GI a1 model triggers I've fired
I'm heading out to my range hopefully soon and I may make a decision on that

If yours is anything like mine, the trigger will get better with use.

Thanks all! I'm please as punch

The gun as it sits now is still a better gun than I am a shooter so I'll probably keep it all stock

Only thing I'm buying for it now is a few 8 round magazines

Going to concentrate on handloading for it after the holidays (might sneak out there tomorrow) and experiment loading different HP's

Merry Christmas !
