Took a couple rounds to get the trigger down. This is 28 rounds from 7 yards. The other rounds were at a Xenegy can on the ground about the same distance.  I'm in love. So much better than my XD45. Is not even a comparison really. In the words of Phil Robertson, "Everybody happy, happy, happy."

Nice...nothing like shooting a 1911.

No pics of the pistol?

It's hard not to have a good time shooting a good 1911.

Nice.

What hold did you use? Most SA's I've shot have a 6 o'clock hold.

Now it's got me thinking I need one for concealed carry...

I had started with a "bullseye" hold, dead on. You can see they were high. The actual bullseye hits were made holding at 6 o'clock. Now I understand why my grandpa taught me to shoot that way! I'm used to hitting POA with my XD.

You don't need another one for carry.  At least I think a 1911 full size is good to go for that.

I picked one up a few weeks ago as well.  They are definitely nice shooting pistols!

The hard part is deciding what to upgrade

Alright, now that you have a pistol that you like, do this:  Get yourself a 4" AR500 plate.  Start at 10 yards.  Work until you can put a full magazine onto the plate, without a miss.   Then move the plate back five yards, and repeat.

You're not doing horrible, but you and the gun are both capable of more.

The first upgrade I did to mine was the Wilson flat spring and GI guide rod kit, I was very happy with the difference in the ease of racking the slide and the reduced recoil. You will also need a recoil spring plug along with the kit. It's a fairly cheap modification and works great.

I replaced my guide rod and spring cap as well. Much nicer.

I also replaced the main spring housing to a regular one. Took a little time to fit but now I don't have that silly lock.

I really believe that if they added a checkered front strap to the loaded even if they had to bump the price to accommodate 20 LPI machine checker that they would sell a metric shit ton of them......I suppose the worry would be infringing on the TRP but if they could accomplish at lets say $999 I think it would be a win

I agree. I put some grip tape on mine that I got from Ankert Custom, It looks way better than I thought it would and works great for only $10.

Grip tape or pach's solve the FS needs.

I bought one of those last week. Of course, being in KaliPornYa, there's a 10 day wait *hand-job* *hand-job* *hand-job*.

It's the exact one you have, it comes home with me Saturday, well, almost home, it goes from the gun shop to the range with me, then home. Yeah, I am going to shoot the piss out of it before I bring it home. I'll post up a range report after.  Bought a bunch of white box to shoot up, keep the cases and reload. plenty of powder and primers on my bench. need more cases and boolets.
