Went to a local to see what they had in stock for 1911 Grips. Woman working introduced me to her 1911 with Magpul grips.

I was impressed with the feel and fit.

Their supplier was out of stock, she told me her price would have been around $20.00. Just orded a set from AIM for $18.95 delivered.

Looking forward to getting them and giving them a whirl.

Anyone else?

I have a set on my range officer and I like them. I wasn't to sure about the large cut out for the mag release but they still
feel great.

They're the thinnest grips you can buy without getting thin grip bushings.

I have them on a carry Gov't 1911.

Same here. Got em from AIM. I like Magpul's stuff. I got a black set and an FDE just because.

Dash_ispy have you put the FDE ones on any guns and if so could you post a pic?

Thanks

Took them in the same light to compare. Not sure how I feel about the FDE.

I wish I'd known the Magpul grips had the large thumb cut-out before I shelled out for a set of VZ grips...

I put a set on satin nickel Series 70 a year or so back.  I thought the OD green color looked good on the satin nickel gun, but I don't have a picture of it.

No problem. The FDE looks a little strange but I will run em for awhile to see if it grows on me now that I switched for the photo.

I ordered a pair after handling a co-worker's gun that had them.  They feel pretty grippy but not to harsh on the hands.  I like the large mag release cut out and it helps me drop a mag without rotating the gun as much.

On a side note, I shot my first USPSA match last weekend with the new grips.  I ended up winning the single stack division and shot 2 ranks higher on the classifier than I am currently ranked.  All this was done without me trying to shoot like a hero either.  I just casually shot the match.  Coincidence or not, I dont know lol.

The mag release cut out felt weird at first since I wasn't used to it, but after one range trip that all went away. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Anyone try the 'Stealth Gray" or "Olive Drab Green"?

I'm wondering if either would look good with a parkerized finish.

Can anyone compare the Magpul grips to

Ergo Suregrip
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/3206833518/ergo-warrior-suregrip-grip-panels-rubber-overmold-square-bottom-1911-government-commander?cm_vc=ProductFinding

Ergo XTR Hard Rubber
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/858502/ergo-xtr-hard-rubber-grip-panels-aggressive-texture-square-bottom-1911-government-commander-black?cm_vc=ProductFinding

These are the slimmest grips I have found (without using slim bushings) and both are very "grippy" without being uncomfortable. They also have cutouts for ambi safeties and square bottoms for a magwell.

This may be a stupid question, but how hard do you think it would be to shape these to fit a Sig bobtail?

Can not do it for bobotail. The back side of the Magpul grips are hollow. See picture below.

I'm betting they both would be sharp.

My choice would probably be the gray

After spending what I did on VZs, I really don't want to try the Magpuls. My luck I would like them better.

You can pick up the Magpul 1911 grips from Amazon at 17.50 shipped.  I picked up a set there for my SR1911.  Hoping they are made from the same material that the MOE+ grips are...

I just got them.  While I like the profile and the cut-out, they are definitely not the same type of plastic/rubber that the MOE+ grips use.  The MOE+ have an almost "overmold" type rubberish grip to them.  These 1911 grips are hard plastic.

I had the Ergo XTR Hard Rubber Aggressive Texture grips on my 1911 (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/858502/ergo-xtr-hard-rubber-grip-panels-aggressive-texture-square-bottom-1911-government-commander-black?cm_vc=ProductFinding) - and those are "softer" rubber than the Magpuls.

I had one smith really fucker up half the gun. I found a better one that smoothed out everything at a fraction of the cost.

It has a short travel even though its long, I kinda like it this way. Big hands
