Anyone have experience with this gun?
Accuracy?
Reliability?
Quirks?

I am considering one for games and range time. It seems like a good product (but pricey). I only know of one person who has one so I am hoping to get a little more input.

If it were I, I would get a 9mm Range officer and some metalform 9mm magazines.

Eh, I already have  RIA 9mm that I have used for years (with zero issues). This one is just more refined and stainless. I also like the undercut trigger guard, mag well, and checkering.

If I didn't already have a blued/parkerized version, I would go with the RO. It seems to be a great value for the money.

I just asked about this gun a few weeks back.  Do a search, I had some good answers.

I'll be picking one up in the next 3-4 months.

The RO doesn't compare at all.  The Smith Pro is just damn nice.

I had one for a period of time.  The fit, finish, and function was on par with any upper end 1911 and better than most.  Very accurate and smooth.  The pistol was very nice.  I would recommend one without hesitation.    JD

I've got one and despite some pains with the hybrid safety system (cross between a Swartz and Series 80), I am now pretty happy with it.

Here's a couple of links to my experience:

I've got one. It's a very nicely made pistol. Mine has the target sights, a bit more price wise over the non target. I have nothing but good things to say about it. Swapped an LGS some of my .22LR stash at the height for it. Yes it was new, in the box. Top right.

Unless I missed it, you never said what your final solution with the fp safety? I imagine you either removed it from the slide or put in a 70 series fp.

I wonder if Smith will ever make a less expensive 9mm E version 1911.

No, and I've never seen it on their website either.

Non-scandium models are quite affordable.

Schwarz safety and external extractor--two features I hate on 1911s and two features S&W insists on putting on their guns.
