Anyone else get the email? Didn't see it posted.

Metalform Magazine Pro-Carry
Series 1911 Government, Commander 45 ACP 7-Round Stainless Steel Xylan
Coated Skirted Flat Follower Welded Base

I've used Metalforms before without any problems, but does anyone have any experience with these new Pro Carry models?

I have my first 1911 coming next week probably and was looking for mags when I stumbled on these today. Ordered 3.

I'll be sure to post about them when I can!

Will these take a screw in base pad?

Xylan coating is a little to slick, causing me to adjust all my magazine holders that I use in comp. I use the Elite Series.

Also noticed a few of the magazines showing signs of the finish coming off, it may be from wear or chipping, dont really care so I did not look closer  into it.

Thanks, Gregory. Sounds like they'd be A-OK for my intended use as range mags.

Does anyone know what type of mag lips they have: wadcutter or hybrid?

I bought ten while these were $10 (They are now regular price. $23.99). Of the ten only 3 had markings and holes for base pad screws (not threaded). The others are completely blank on the bottom plate. No caliber designation, no manufacturer mark etc. The bags they came in were marked with different part numbers also.

153018 071414
Blank bottom plate.. perhaps these are an OEM version? I would think they would at least have caliber marked though.

153018 072214
Holes, Caliber, Metalform emblem. Much like my other Metalform mags.

They seem like very heavy duty mags. I'll have to try them out this week.. I might see if I can exchange hole-less ones too.

I used mine yesterday at the range. All functioned flawlessly. Functioned better than the ACT 8 rounder that came with my RIA.

Most of mine are marked on the baseplate or mag body... if they have a welded baseplate they get covered ananyway by a base pad.

I might run out today and test these.. several failed to even drop free unloaded, from my TRP anyway. I tryed with a Kimber and they dropped. These ones are .550" wide at the top. Others are .535-.540". I do not expect the world for my $10, but I hope current stock better reflects $24 price. Bettter nip that variance some, especially for a always-drop-free mag advertised for carry.

Ran three mags, 50 rounds each, through 2 pistols. No issues. Seem well worth $10 at any rate. (ran only 230 ball)

Another issue I noticed was the catch slot not quite where it should be on all of my 10.. Had to needle file top edge .005-.010" for it to engage mag catch in two of my pistols.

Sorry 'bout the delay, fellers. I got the mags in, took pics with the iPotato that night, and promptly forgot to post. Just looked at 'em, and discovered my super awesome photography job... like I took pictures of Bigfoot or something. Here's what I got:

If better pics are required, just ask. Not a single marking on any of the three I got. No base plate holes for a bumper pad. Feed lips look a little weird on mine, but I cycled 230 gr. ball ammo thru all three by hand with only one FTF; I'll see how they shoot in a week or two. All in all, looks like they'll work fine for $10.

Thanks for heads up. I ordered two just to see how they work in my Ruger SR1911 and my Desert Eagle 1911. Already have 10 1911 mags and I am always open to buying more , especially on special like these from Midway.

I ordered a few more of these when they dropped back down to $9.99, and I happened upon the listing while checking up on my order and noticed they are now $8.62 .. looks like they want rid of them. They are certainly worth that.

I have had three of these mags for about a year. I have shot Bullseye and burnt up 1000-1500 rounds this year using these mags. They have worked 100%.I had three malfunctioning Metalforms that I had acquired over the years. Last fall I contacted Metalform to see if they would correct or replace them. I sent them in to the company and got an email that said they would replace them. I had the option of their regular mags or these new prototypes. I elected the new mags and received them about Nov. of last year. I gave them the work out this summer and am well satisfied. Good magazines and hats off to Metalform. I use them with a Caspian framed Wad gun with slide mounted Ultradot. Mine are not drilled for any Bump pad.
