Hey guys,

So after trying to make myself like Glocks I realize that 1911's are just what I prefer and shoot best. Problem I have is that a full size 1911 isn't always going to be best for concealment. I have grown very fond of appendix carry and think that a CCO sized 1911 would be my best compromise.

I generally wear polo shirts in the summer and button downs the rest of the year.

What are some of the cco style 1911's that I should be looking at?

Thanks!

Dan Wesson CCO or Guardian bob tail. They give you a fully ramped barrel and night sights for the same price as a Colt.

There is a new model that's supposed to come out but I doubt we'll see it for another couple months. They discontinued the on you have there.

Great looking gun though.

Sig C3 and RCS are the cheapest options. I had a C3 and carried really well.

and if you want a standard profile 1911 that will fit regular holsters the sig traditional compact is a CCO

I had one and then got the DW CCO

If I can conceal a full-size 1911 with a t-shirt, so can you.

The Wiley Clapp CCO By TALO from Colt.  It's supposed to be shipping to dealers at the end of this month, so a week or two and I bet we'll see them popping up.

I have zero issue concealing a Springfield Champion under a tee shirt using a Milt Sparks VM2 at 3 o'clock.

What holster are you using?

I'm going with the Colt, but I'm a Colt guy. Dan Wesson CCO is a solid choice as well, and the SAI would be my budget choice I think.

I have a VM2 and a beltman belt for my 1911. I prefer appendix carry these days and have a JM Custom Kydex w/ extra tuck on order for the 1911.

I had been carrying either a glock 19 or a 26 in an RCS VG2....I just prefer my confidence with a 1911.

You guys that say you can carry a full size 1911 at 3 o clock in just a t shirt...I dunno how you bend over....go to work....or wear decent clothes lol.

I love my full size 1911s but I carry a Para P12. It is only slightly wider in the grip, functions just like every other 1911, is "Officer" size, and has 12+1 capacity

Unless it sold in the last day or two, there's a Wiley Clapp lightweight Commander for sale on this forum, and for a great price. I love mine, shoots like a dream.

I've had the Colt CCO Talo for 2-3 yrs and never had a problem.  However, I did have a little trigger smoothing done as it felt a little gritty.  I didn't notice it mentioned, but STI makes a CCO sized 1911 (prehaps called the Guardian), I have two other STI models and they produce a very nice product which they stand strongly behind.

No.

No Colt 45s have a ramped barrel. There's no need given the low pressure of the cartridge.

It looks like the top pistol in this picture is readily available, but the bottom one is not.  Is the only fundamental difference the front slide serrations?

My "buy it now" finger is getting twitchy...do I need to be talked down?
