Actually, my gunsmith just showed me a Norinco he worked on for a guy. He said he ruined a couple tools working on it, very very hard steel.
Handling it, I felt like it was a very nice pistol for the price |

I have one of those, though it's nowhere near as pretty as yours :) I've affectionately named mine the Frankengun. The only thing left on it that's Norinco is the slide and frame and safeties/slide lock. Trigger, barrel, sear and all the springs were replaced with either Colt or other match grade parts. I love that thing, It doesn't shoot as well as my friends Kimber, but considering I only paid 250 for it, it shoots very well.
And yeah, it does make a nice truck gun... |

I think I'm going to like this one. I have had one before but it was nickel plated and I tradded it off sor another gun and have been kicking my self in the butt for it since.
This one if it as good will stick around for some time.
I just need to make my self like the sights they are very high. Could might even be used for a silencer or some thing. The barrel has no markings, does the Norinco's come like that I cant remember. Getting too old. |

The original norc barrel should be hard chromed inside and out if I recall correctly.

I have not modded it and am not going to. I did put Hogue wraparounds on it but went back to the original ones. You are gonna love it. |

They are good guns. Other sights would probably be more rugged and fitting for a truck gun.

May I make a suggestion? Buy a Cylinder and Slide hammer set and have the set installed on your pistol. With both of my Norincos, I found that after several thousand rounds the magazine release assembly became worn. So I replaced the entire assemblies with ones from Evolution Gun Works. If you make these two modifications, you will have the ideal 1911.

Wish mine looked more like this.
Thats a nice 45 you have there. So you did the mods to this one inside ? I would like to find a zip up case for mine that would hold extra mags like the tactical cases. I wont to keep this in my truck incase some thing goes nuts at the hospital where I work. They closed down the hospital down in the other side of town and we are getting all the bums, druggies, and gang bangers at ours now. ![]() |

The frame was parkerized by Armco Plating and the gunsmith there, Gunnar Chistiansen, installed an Ed Brown extended thumb safety.
Then I bought a Cylinder and Slide hammer set and Stelios Chistochou of SC Gunworks in Markham, Ontario installed those parts for me. My friend Sheldon installed a EGW magazine release assembly. After about 5000 rounds the stock Norinco magazine assembly started to wear and the magazine would not fit properly. I also bought a set of checkered walnut stocks, but I can't remember where I bought them from. The grip screws were fire blued and I bought those from a company in Montana. But the gun runs perfectly and you would be hard pressed to find a more reliable accurate 1911. Check out the Brownell's website because they carry Ed Brown grips that are similar to the ones on my pistol. Ed's grips are rosewood and mine are walnut. The price over at Brownell's is $40 The Evolution Gun Works magazine release assembly is also available from Brownell's and it costs about $30 The 4.5 pound Cylinder and Slide hammer set costs $119 and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The set consists of a hammer, disconnector, sear, sear spring and a hammer spring and it will drop right into most pistols. |
