THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Only problem is the barrel looks just about shot out, and I can't seem to find any aftermarket barrel makers that offer 4-inch lengths. Everyone seems to just carry the commander length 4 1/4" barrels. I know other companies out there are currently offering 4" versions (Springfield Champions come to mind), so can someone point me in the right direction to get a replacement barrel for this? I've already tried a bunch of barrel makers with no luck, Bar-sto, Ed Brown, Brownells, ect.

What does it group? 45 barrels can give groups well into the 50,000 mark. I would go with maybe the barrel setup is not ideal. can you move the barrel when it is locked up? what's the difference of the barrel od and bushing id?

At 7 yards I was pleasantly surprised that this grouped as well as my Sig GSR fullsize. The barrel doesn't move much when I put pressure on the front or top, the usual small play that's present in service pistols is present. The only problem I had was a FTE on a full mag +1 in the chamber on my first shot. Ejection was weak though, looks like either my ejector is broke off, or it's an old standard ejector, as there is no extention on it. |

You might want to try a new recoil spring. I have an older Springfield Champion with a 4" bbl. and it is finicky when the recoil spring gets weak.

Could just be a standard ejector, I'd check extractor tension. EGW sells extra long ejectors that you can "trim" for custom ejection patterens.
Used 1911 I always install a new recoil spring before use. |
