If I could find a holster for it I'd be very happy. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=34433 Excellent! Thanks! |

I have a Sig 1911 Scorpion Full Size, and love it. Have several other 1911 from other makers, the Sig is quite impressive. I got mine with a XD (9mm) trade in and 600.00, got the gun. So the price was right. Either model you looking at is good. Looking to pick-up an XO in the near future.

I really like my sig tac ops. I have the one with the non threaded barrel. So far so good. Had a few minor hiccups, but that was during break in and now it runs great. Those initial hiccups are normal for most 1911 anyway. They run hollow points very well without being sent off to a smith and thats a huge plus for me. The only thing I'm going to do to mine is to change the trigger out for a 10-8 performance. I'm not bagging on the sig trigger, this is more of personal preference vs a must change part. I'm about 1500 rounds in and I really like it. As has been mentioned before, it is a lot of gun for the money. Mine came with 4 mags too.
A word on the scorpion......This may not be make or break for you, but it was for me. The scorpion's mag well is part of the grip, vs the tac ops model is a metal part. That was a deal breaker for me, since I might change the grips in the future. Like I said, may not be a big deal for you. Just thought I would point that out for the guys who are on the fence of scorpion or tac ops. -Green. |

I got a full-size Scorpion last week. So far it's been flawless with factory ball, and about 100 LSWC reloads. I love my Kimber Stainless Target, but damned if this Sig is FAST becoming my favorite!!

I was a total Glock guy until I got my Sig carry 1911. It's dead accurate and a great gun. The only pain in the ass part for me with it is finding a holster it'll fit in! It seems like Sig squared the slide more than any other 1911 and it's tough to find holsters.

I'm a tax return away from my first Sig 1911.
One question I had was this: Are the Sig 1911s the same as other 1911s in terms of parts interchangeability? Say triggers for example? |

I'm curious to know this as well. Just by looking at my Tac Ops, the trigger looks just like the CMC trigger I had installed in my 1911 a few years back. However the Sig has the stupid Series 80-type safety I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |

Say triggers for example? You won't have any parts issues, the only thing "proprietary" is the extractor and it can be purchased from Evolution Gun Works.. They are series 80 pistols that have a strange extractor-shaped plug at the rear of the slide. |

Just hit 1000 rounds in mine. Bought it new, cleaned and assembled it with ZERO lube. Shoot 1000 rounds without cleaning or lube and had three malfunctions. Around 800 round and then again near 1000 I have three total fail to return to battery. They were slight and a quick tap on the back of slide remedied the problem and got the gun back in the fight. Took 3.5 hours to clean it, completed down to frame disassemble and cleaning. Love it, might even be my daily CCW.

There's a lot to like, for me anyway, about that pistol. |
