I just took delivery of this Russian 10 rounder yesterday. The slide is in great shape! Someone seemed to spray flat black on to the frame. That's fine by me! I'll test it tomorrow:

This is the baby brother to the double stack I just picked up!! When my double stack arrived,I'd noticed this one which is an IJ-70 single stack in MINT shape. Here it is:

And one of the three, two russians and a bulgarian:

I picked this one up back when they were still $100 and no one made ammo for them. Got a beefy ol' Pearce grip for it somewhere.

Here it is:

It's a treat to see all those Maks!  Thanks for sharing your photos.

Good shooting,

Here's a sub-standard photo of my IJ-70.  It always baffled my why they referred to it as IJ-70 when wriitten using the Latin Alphabet.  The Russian (Cyrillic lettering) version reads ИЖ-70.  In my opinion, it should read IZH-70 in the Latin alphabet.  The Ж character is pronounced as a ZH in Latin.  The ИЖ monaker is there because it's produced at Izhmash in Izhevsk, Russia.  I'm sure any and all Soviet weapon/Makaraov afficianados know that famous factory all too well...

I posted this pic in the General Armory board under a WWB ammo thread. Best-ever Bulgy target (50') shown here. I can consistently hold 3-3.5" at 25 yds (modern ammo) with good lighting indoors for my crummy old eyes. My 11-yr old is a hot rod with it, nailing 20 oz plastic soda bottles in the plinking pit with astounding regularity.

It gets better as time goes by, as all the trigger grittiness is almost gone. As stated many times, for those who believe Comrade Mak's invention is only adequate for kneeling prisoners at 2 meters, think again!

The only chrome plated in the top pic.

I've been lucky at finding maks and have bought and sold a large number over the years, trying to keep the best of the military versions.
still pick up a commercial version if the price is right.

Is the 'black navy' a ceremonial/parade Bulgarian Navy Makarov???

If it is...I think it must be more rare than the SHI Type 59

BTW, what is the Average going rate for a non-import Russian?
