I think the Bulgarians made a decent pistol. Fit and finish on mine is excellent for a military pistol. The trigger is a typical PM piece of crap.

If you cant see the difference in a Russian Makarov, and a CZ-82 or a Hungarina pa-63 or a Polish p64 etc, we cant really help.

There are a lot of 9x18Makarov chambered pistols out there, also some dealers that sell them all as Makarovs, it can be a little missleading.
As far as the real Makarov PM's the Russian military one is worth the most, with East German following, then Chinese,Bulgarian military, commercial, Russian commercial, etc.

As far as 9x18 pistols, the CZ-82 is the most modern currently avalible, 12rd double stack mag, interchangable sights, ambi controls, etc
The Makarov PM is the classic, 8rd single stack, heel mag release basically a great range toy or plinker.
The Hungarian Pa-63 is alot like a Walther, having an alloy frame it is lighter than the Makrarov PM, push button mag release.
The Polish P-64 is also like a Walther, but is all steel and smaller than the Pa-63 and has a heel mag release.

They can also be had for about $50-100 less then the others; I paid $202 out the door for mine last month; and if you have a C&R, it is an even better deal. I know it was the same for the Pa-63 a few years ago, but I'm not sure about now; I'm only just getting into 9x18 right now; my next purchase will be a CZ-82 if all goes well!

Huh, I thought the East German Maks were preferred. My Russian has the target sight mod, so I don't expect it to be particularly special, but if they are sought more than the German, I guess that's kinda cool

Key words being "Russian Military", the ones with the adjustable sights are commercial.
