International Military Antiques sell acceptable quality military type holsters, made in China.
These are typically better then the stuff found at gun shows or on the internet.

A 1944 P-38 would have used the "soft" type holster.  Military would usually be black, police often brown.
They sell these in smooth or pebble grain.
The "hard case" type similar to the Luger holsters were only used in the early war before being replaced by the soft.

It would depend if you want a legit period holster or not.  If you do check out Legacy Collectables or Pre98.  Both Tom and Scotty easy to deal with. A correct period holster will be more expensive than a Chinese knock off.

The hard shell holsters were made at least into 1944. The soft shell ones came out in 1943 and were made thru the end of the war.  Thus you 44 dated pistol could have had either one.
