Not that I needed it... But it was at a local auction of an old timer that passed away in NJ and the assets of the estate were being sold by a local PA auction house. The item in question was a 1917 DWM artillery Luger in about 65% condition with an excellent condition bore....Although the bluing was worn, the metal was in pretty decent shape with all matching numbers except for the period correct magazine that was unnumbered. The bad part was that the grips had been sanded down and had no checkering points left and were heavily varnished..... The pistol went for $1200 on the hammer and had a 15% buyers premium which equals $1380 total... Just make me feel better that I did not pass up something I should have bid on... Thanks folks!

BTW... There a bunch of Walter p38's there 2 with original holsters, 3 without... All went for an average of $600 hammer price... Also not good enough to win without something extraordinary to justify the hammer price... Unfortunately!
