THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
My Father In Law has had this Luger for a while. Being of the Jewish faith and having lost family members to the Holocaust it is rarely mentioned I took some pictures to help with a ruff estimate, he thinks it could be worth about 2,000.00. I'd like to get a rough idea to give him a decent offer and keep it in the family. My knowledge is limited when it comes to Luger's since I rarely come across any. I'm hoping PO8 will lend a hand.

No offense but what you have is a re blued mix master shooter. Frame is WWI and you can tell because of the old unit markings on the front strap. The upper cannon is from a 1936 S/42 code Mauser and the toggle from a 41 or 42 byf Mauser. Side plate is either commercial or a replacement. Value is going to be in the $4-500 range mainly due to the high polish re blue.
He said "Yes you did" I said "No I didn't" she said "Yes you did" then I said "Nuh uh" they said "Uh huh" then I said, If it is gonna be that kind of party I'm stickin my dick in the mashed potatoes.

Thanks PO8 I thought is was too good a shape to be original and the the one thing that stood out was the different numbers. From reading some facts I've learned the numbers should match throughout the gun. Let me see if I could break it to him gently.LOL

Nice looking, then I saw the 'Made in Germany' stamped on the barrel.

At least you know you can shoot it without hurting it's value any!
