THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I hate to do one of these posts, but I'm looking to add a decent WWII Luger to my collection and there is a good candidate at a shop right down the road from me. What I'm looking at is a 1939 S/42 bring-back. The finish and grips are worn, but there is absolutely no rust or breakage. I was able to tear the gun down completely today and found that all the parts match. Internally and mechanically the gun is excellent. Bore is a little dirty but sharp and should clean to very good. Downside (aside from the missing finish) is the mag is non-matching and has a broken floorplate. The store is asking $1145 (not negotiable). The owner is a good guy who tries his best to price his guns fairly. I don't think this is a special deal, but I do think the price sounds fair. Just wanted to check in before I pull the trigger on this, I know there are a lot of variables with Lugers. |

Sounds like a good price if everything is truly matching. Check these guys for comparable prices. http://www.simpsonltd.com/index.php?cPath=179_215&osCsid=98352f17194c21fb1c928570f579aba1
Hold open device, rear toggle axle pin, inside of side plate, firing pin should internally match too. The number and letter fonts of all matching parts should look similar. |

Yep, all those parts were checked this morning and they all matched. I checked Simpson but couldn't find anything really similar given the wear. I will probably pick this up tomorrow!

My apologies if you already know this, but do NOT run hot ammo thru it! No +p at all! ![]() |
