THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT There is no pitting but there is some discoloration to the bluing, kind of a reddish-orange hue that I can only see in the photos. "Germany" is stamped into the right frame rail in very small font. I am new to Lugers and I'd like to get an idea of what Luger enthusiasts here think this is worth before posting what I gave for it. TIA.

Judging from your photo's you have an original finish Erfurt. If it appears red due to strong light what you are seeing is the rust blue patina from many many years. It is a standard issue P08 which was imported into the US after the war rather than as a war trophy. this is due to the GERMANY stamp on the side frame. Value on that gun would be a conservative $800 or better. if you decide to shoot the gun do not use the original mag. The wooden bottoms get very fragile with age and will crack. Mec Gar mags are some of the best replacement mags available.

I will make sure to use aftermarket mags when I shoot it. Thanks for the input. |

No the import mark does not really hurt the value as many were brought over here like that. Condition is what hurts, Maybe take some pics without a strong light so the patina does not glow so much. I put the value as that of a shooter due to the blue and straw condition.

P08, here are some more pics taken outside. I think it looks a lot better in natural light.

That looks much better, you may get up to $1100 for it, unfortunately Imperial Luger's do not command the premium of a Nazi era gun at this time.
