S&W Model 43 .22 Kit Gun from 1959, according to the serial number, with original, serial number stamped, grips S&W Centennial (pre Model 40) with serial number 1011 dating it likely to first year of production, 1952 and, yes, it still has it's safety pin under the original grips |

Wife researched and bought a new carry gun. She is a big 1911 fan, and this is basically a polymer 1911 with the overall thin profile, manual safety that is large, and a grip safety. Its actually really nice to shoot.

My new-to-me Glock 17L with Lone Wolf threaded barrel, 1/2x28 to 5/8×24 thread adapter, thread protector, and Crimson Trace laser grip.
Attached File I got it from a local auction house. OTD, including buyer's premium and background check, I paid $526. Personally, I think that price was a steal. I have no use for the thread adapter and it's thread protector. |

Originally Posted By USMCSGT0331: I recently purchased this pistol, it's a Glock 17 with serial number AB438, which was produced in February 1984. I've been told that there's only about 4 of these February 1984 (LTF) dated Glocks known to exist in the country. Additionally, half of those known February 1984 Glocks in the US have this original greenish-black slide finish (duotone or something?) and an in-the-white pencil barrel, just like the early Austrian military P80's. The other half of the pistols have the regular black slide and black barrel. So, this is maybe 1 of maybe 2 February 1984 Glock 17's in the US with this type of finish. That's ridiculously rare! I could be off on these numbers, but that's what I've been told by some very high-level Glock collectors. The only earlier civilian Glocks are the AA serial number prefix guns from December 1983 (and possibly a month or 2 earlier than that). The 2 letter serial number prefix is followed by a 3 digit number going from 001 to 999. So, the AA serial number range was AA001 to AA999, then they switched to the AB range which was from AB001 to AB999, and then so on. That makes my pistol (AB438) the 1,437th Glock to ever be produced for the civilian market! That's unbelievably early, especially considering how many countless millions of pistols they've made for just the civilian market in the past 40 years. Not many of these early guns are still around, even in Europe they're ridiculously rare. Glock sold their first civilian pistols to Europeans in 1984, the first civilian Glocks were sold to Americans in 1986 (starting with the AF serial number prefix). Today, Glocks are a dime a dozen, but it's a pistol that revolutionized firearms development and it's now one of the most important firearms to ever be invented. Love them or hate them, Glock pistol have made a major impact on the history of firearms and their development. This is why I've started collecting the very early Glocks. They're extremely interesting and historically significant. Someday collecting these early Glock pistols will become more than just a small niche hobby. https://www.glocktalk.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/https://www.glocktalk.com/attachments/1000010475-jpg.1288541/ https://www.glocktalk.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/https://www.glocktalk.com/attachments/1000010476-jpg.1288542/ https://www.glocktalk.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/https://www.glocktalk.com/attachments/1000010473-jpg.1288543/ https://www.glocktalk.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/https://www.glocktalk.com/attachments/1000010474-jpg.1288544/ https://www.glocktalk.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/https://www.glocktalk.com/attachments/1000010470-jpg.1288545/ Here's a photo of my AC serial number prefix Glocks. It has the same slide finish as the AB pistol above, but you can see how the color changes under different lighting conditions. You can see how green these early slides actually are: https://www.glocktalk.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/https://www.glocktalk.com/attachments/1000010488-jpg.1288560/ View Quote That is to cool. An FFL Friend bought a Glock at the Louisville, Ky gun show at the Fairgrounds in 1986 or 87 and his is a very low serial number Gen 1 Glock 17. His pistol has digested many tens of thousand reloads. His pistol has the original black Tennifer finished slide and barrel. My Friend was determined to wear out his Glock to show the sub caliber polymer gun was junk. He gave up trying to wear out his Glock 17 and has become a proponent of Glock pistols. My Friend’s email is glockaholic.
Like Glock or hate them they made a huge impact on the handgun market. I still like the Glock simple, reliable design that is very durable. |

Copy of my post in another thread -
Picked up another .38 S&W top-break revolver at a gun show for $100, seen in the middle below with my other 2 in the same caliber I have owned for a while, so I keep ammo for that around. The (new to me) one in the middle is apparently an H&R 2nd Model made between 1913 and 1915. It needs a little work but I think I can make it run without it blowing up on me. Should be an interesting project. The other 2 are an H&R Model 926 (made between 1968 and 1984) and an S&W 5th Model (made in the early 1900s). Attached File |
