Hahaha, yes and no...

I had been planning to try out the RDS and pistol concept because I don't have a lot of time behind one, and I'd also been thinking about picking up a Glock.  I'm firmly in the 9 & .45 camp and never even dreamed of getting a .40 S&W, though.  Meanwhile, one of the projects I'm working on is a technology demonstrator that's using an HK416-clone as a base.

Then one day walking through a gun show I'd stopped in to randomly because I had some spare time, I stumbled across a small stack of FDE .40 magazines and the hamster started sprinting.  Things spiraled out of control, and now my HK416-clone has a little sibling just because.

Ah. I see why you weren't keen on the Dueck Defense RBU mount. You made a clone of the CAG pistol.

Visited a LGS I had never been to before just to look around after work. (They actually have a ton of AR parts, so I will be back). An older gentleman came in and told the employee he wanted to try to sell them a Glock because he didn't like it. Gun store guy looks it over and goes in the back. Comes out and tells the gentleman they would give him $150 for it, and because it is a Gen 3, they couldn't offer a lot. The next thing he said actually impressed me. He told the gentleman he would be better off selling it privately, and could make more. The employee recommended gunbroker etc as a place to sell, because he didn't know how. As he was getting ready to leave, I offered him $200 for it right there. Shop employee kinda back me up implying this would be way easier just to sell now. He accepted. I bought a mag and dust cover from the shop. Got it home, and there isn't too much wear. It looks like there wasn't much lube applied or cleaning done. That is an easy fix. It was a good day! It's my second Glock, and will replace my Sig P290rs as my ESC.

There are a great many things you could blame on clone, but there is only one reason I didn't go with the Dueck mount: $125 vs. $45.

I really like the idea of the Dueck actually, but my plan is to mill my slide eventually, so there didn't seem much sense in paying extra for a mount with integral sights that's only intended to be an interim solution.  Moreover, the difference bought me the magwell.

That being said, I'm seeing what you meant about the irons helping to "find" the dot.  Nevertheless, while I haven't gotten to fire it set up this way yet, I think I'm going to end up really enjoying the dot, and y'all can get warmed up for my inevitable questions about "who should I send my slide to to have it milled for an optic?"

I have one but will not sell it. It is one of the most soft recoiling .45 acp pistols out there. Built like a tank and meant to last.

Where did you get the +2 mag extensions and will they work on the EAA Witness clones?

They come with the P09 suppressor ready pistol. 2-21rd mags. No idea if they will work with the EAA. CZ has they but they are kinda pricy just like most mag extensions.

Looks like a Gen 3 S&W 6906.  That's the very first "wonder nine" I ever purchased.  Still have mine.  Great gun.

Yep, a 6906. I snagged a really nice one pretty cheap this time, but you can find mechanically excellent police trade ins for ~300 on gunbroker even now. They're super underappreciated guns.
