Colt MkIV Series 70, Gov't Model, Nickel finish, made in 1978 or 1979, honestly cannot remember.
I've got the original wood/colt medallion grips, I just like the feel and heft of the jigged bone grips.

Springfield loaded lightweight champion 1911 a1, wearing a set of Hakan Pek BBQ grips. My damn favorite 1911. Thinking of actually bob-tailing it. It now wears Green soft Ergos.

Colt 1911, [not a1] dated 1918, was an original "black army" gun due to it's near black bluing. Someone, in their infinite wisdom, stripped, polished and hard-chromed it....... UGH....
Whoever did this should be whipped with it.
Shown here, how I bought it, wearing the same BBQ grips as above.

Here is mine, Its a full build from Copes and Gunbroker and new parts from Midway since I didn't like the quality of some of the new parts Copes sends with their kits..Its a RIA receiver and barrel from gun broker and the rest of the parts from Copes....I was quite pleased that the frame didn't have to have a lot of work to make the parts fit other than the usual messaging of the corners and tool marks....

My First 1911

The picture was taken before I removed all the light scratches with a 7448 scotchbrite pad.

Loving it!

Thank's. I actually bought it on the spur of the moment, I'm really not a 1911 fan and I might be putting it up for sale soon. (Still new and untouched and unfired).
