I have a gen 3 G19.  I know they use a different recoil spring assembly than the gen 4 models.  Someone told me that you can use a gen 4 barrel in the gen 3.  True?  Or they don't know what they're talking about.  This is for a threaded factory barrel.

A newer gen 3 yes.

An older gen 3 no.

The recoil spring cutout is different now, they did this to standardize with the gen 4s
