For those who have used both which would you prefer and why?  


How's the speed / retention of both models?

I use a 578 GLS for my FNS-9L.  Works great, nothing to think about unlike the ALS

I've seen more than one handgun eat gravel in multi-gun matches.

was not thinking about 3 gun type of matches.
Used a bladetech stingray for years with no problems, now the safariland model 12 when I ran, my hand was on the gun, that holster design is not the best for running.
