I have a Mk25 and I am looking for something that is a little easier to conceal. Today I saw the Walther PPS, G19, and the Sig 229, 320 He tried to sell me a XM2 or what ever it is called but it just didn't feel right.  The PPS was 399 and they all felt good. There was something about the G19 and it didn't seem to fit in my hand right. I loved the 229 but it was thick. I am even more unsure after firing them all today. What  should I fo on.

Can't really go wrong with a Glock 19, but the ergonomics aren't for everyone. Personally, I've never really cared for the PPS, and I have shot a few of them. I prefer the shield or the Glock 43 to the PPS. I love the P229, actually like the P228 even better. Also, maybe check out some offerings from CZ.

The glock 19 is the gold standard and what pretty much everyone and every trainer uses.

You could look at an m&p 9c and FNS 9c as well. They are smaller than 19's but bigger than the 26. And also the vp9, but that's bigger than a 19.

And the ergo argument for glocks is way overstated. May not feel as good as some others just picking them up, but the ergos promote good shooting and low recoil. So it's comfortable where it counts.

If you want the perfect carry size gun, the G19.
If you want a top pick for that amount of money, the Heckler and koch VP9.

How do you conceal that thing?

The top one is my compact slide with a subcompact grip module, does quite nice with IWB carry like the alien gear one.

G19

Its not as natural to point for me but with a little time it grew on me.

I prefer shooting, looking at, and holding a whole slew of other guns but the 19 is the easiest to carry and I shoot it as well as anything else, if not better.

If I just went by looks and feels Id carry my .45 blackhawk

Glock 19 has to be held , shot and handle for a while and the hand adopts to it. It's not grab and shoot well gun for some hands

I went back to the range last night and shot the P229, G19 and the PPS. 3 different types of pistols in my eyes. the pss felt good but I didnt really like the single stack, I did like the price of 399. The 229 was great it was just like shooting my 226 but only smaller 900.oo price range is the only turn off. The g19 was good I am not a fan of the frame but I saw the timberwold frames if I buy a gen 3 or lower I might make it work for me, The rentals were not gen 4s so I don't know how much they have improved.

The Gen4 finger grooves are less pronounced and the gun is slimmer front to back.

I haven't shot or carried a gen4, but I'm a little surprised (not really) at everyone recommending the G19 when you want something more concealable than the Sig.  I carry a gen3 G19 and don't find it more concealable than my FNP-9, which is similar in size and shape to the Sig.  I guess it depends on a lot of factors, but for me the Glock would not be an upgrade if my only concern was conceal-ability.

I think you will find the PPS to be the most concealable out of what you've mentioned, however, at that capacity, you may also want to consider the G43.  Disclaimer, I have not shot the new Glock.  I did shoot the 42 and really liked it.

Lots of recommendations for striker fired guns for a guy who is used to a double action pistol in here.

There're also smaller SIGs, FN's, CZ's, and Tanfolios within your price range. If you like the 226 and the 229, you can always get a set of thinner grips and the E2 put on, but of course this will also change the dynamic of that pistol and remove some of the other aspects of the pistol you enjoy. Hard to go wrong with anything from those brands that's a current production pistol.

Either way, the controls for the SIG are backwards with respect to the decocker versus slide stop placement compared to most pistols. You should think on this if you plan on keeping the MK25 for competition, HD, or other self defense reasons beyond blasting away at the range.

Transitioning to a striker fired gun from a DA/SA, DAO or SA pistol is easier than going the other direction, imo.

Thank you everyone. I will be heading to the range this weekend to try out the P320, G10 and the PPS one final time before buying. I am leaning towards the G19 only because I read so much about it. The P320 is still in the running because I own sigs and this is a Gig, the PPS for the price.

I don't think I can sell it, I have to many mags for it. Unless you have a G17 and 19. Pm me.

PPS.  Astonishingly accurate for the size, dependable, flat.  Very flat.

If the PPS is still in the running, you owe it to yourself to give the G26 and the G43 at least 25 rounds of your time. The G26 is easier to conceal than the G19 and the G43 is so easy to carry that I often forget it's there.

For my $700, I got a G43, an extra magazine, two Pearce Grip +1 extensions, an IWB holster, IWB mag pouch, night sights and 100 rounds of ammo.

I just found out about the discount on Sigs so we might go look at the G19 and take a hard look at the 320.

The P320 is a great handgun.

I just sold a P320 Compact recently and replaced it with a G43 and G17. I found it was just too big for me to carry all the time and while I shot it very well, I thought a full-size pistol made better sense to me as a HD weapon platform. I even had the sub-compact grip module for the P320 and found that it was still hard to carry all the time.

The P320 is a heavy gun and you will feel it. It also has a lot of steel above the plastic that makes it kind of "top-heavy" to boot. Great freakin' shooter, though, great trigger and tough as nails. If I were to buy another, I think it'd be a full-size that I'd dress up as a range warrior or a truck gun.
