I have two nice 1911s and a nice Sig P220 SAS.  Looking for another 45 ACP.  I am considering:
Glock 21SF

Glock 21 Gen 4

HK 45

Suggestions?

I've owned all of those, and I still have my Glock 21 Gen 4.  IMHO it's the finest "fighting" 45acp on the market.

It's big, but I have smallish hands and I still handle it very well.

I'm also into 1911's, but for a "serious" 45, I go to my Glock 21 Gen 4.

The trigger on the HK45 sucks.

Glock 30S is probably going be my next purchase. Seems like the the ideal thing to me- 10+1 reliability in a compact, shootable package.

I really like my Glock 41.  A Glock 21 SF or Gen 4 is on my list to buy next year.

Out of your choices, I'd go with the HK45, even though I'm not fond of it's trigger.

M&P45 with the new Apex Flat Faced Forward Set Sear.  Do some research on this awesome new trigger.  I love my M&P45C with this and Warren Tactical sights.

I'd consider an XDM and M&P in addition to those you already mentioned. To me the difference is all personal preference. Those are all highly regarded and reliable pistols.

Out of your choices, I'd go with the Gen 4 21.  Another one to consider is the M&P45.  I've had good luck with mine.

Yup, and it comes with the added benefit of fitting in all of my 9mm Glock holsters.

Not as wide as the 21, too.

I'm a big fan of the Glock 21, I would recommend a 1911 or P220 first but you already have those so the G21 brings capacity to the table.

I recently (few months) have switched my carry gun to a HK45c. So I don't know if you want this as a carry gun, range toy, or home defense. But all in all I have been very happy with it.

the way I look at what your doing is kinda like cars. A Honda vs a BMW. Both will get you from A to B. But some times its more about how you get there. The Hk has different features(some love them some hate them), both are known for reliability, and both should do what you want. But I like HK has to offer. Never did buy into the whole glock being the answer to every question.

if you like 1911s you won't like the Glock 21. I bought one and couldn't wait to get rid of it. didn't like the grip angle, didn't like the lack of a safties, didn't like the shape of the slide. Didn't like anything about it. if you want a 45 with more capacity I would suggest a para ordinance.

G21
Sig P220
1911 large price range to play with
M&P 45

Any of those I would be ok with in any order.  I own a G21SF G30SF 2 SA 1911's and 2 Kimbers.

Right now, HK45 while the $200 HK rebate is still being offered.  You really can't afford not to.

I'm also partial to the FNX-45.

Sig released their 2015 SKUs already and they'll have their P320 chambered in .45ACP if you can wait.  I'd love to have one of those in a full size.

SAR K2 45.  Better than anything you have on your list and much cheaper.  14+1 capacity, amazingly accurate, adjustable sights,  and an amazing trigger.

When I started out as a LEO I carried a S&W 9mm but that was during the big 9mm failure years and everyone changed to the .40S&W or .45acp..  I switched to a .45acp G21 and other than the big grip issues (I fixed those with a Hogue grip sleeve) I loved the gun.  I've owned one almost my entire life since then, with my current model being a Gen 3.  I'm not sure I'll ever update to a Gen 4, I like the Gen 3 too much.

I've never shot the HK so I can't really compare them but I can say the G21 is a fantastic gun that will do everything you need it to do, when you need it and do it extremely well.  They aren't pretty but they are workhorses.

This one has a bit of a worn finish but I plan on having it refinished when I can afford it.  It has Trijicon tritium sights and a Storm Lake compensated stainless match grade barrel.

I concur with this!
I have owned the HK45. It's a nice gun but didn't like the trigger either. I have a 3rd gen G21sf and two 1911's.
The SAR K2 is a great gun. All steel (heavier then the others) and very well made. The price is right too. At least check it out.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  I have a G17 and G22 in Gen 4 and I think Glocks are very good looking.  They fit me perfectly and I am leaning hard toward another Glock in 45.  My LGS has the Gen 3 SF and a Gen 4, I think.  Going to check out today.

To hell with all those...Mk23 FTW.

Seriously thought, if you like Glocks go with the 21. It's a great pistol. I can't shoot them for crap so I'd go with the HK45c personality.

Good gun. The SF .45's and 10mm's are the only pistol I will own in a Glock. M&P's in 40 & .45acp are the tits for me... Now only if S&W will do a 10mm I'd cream myself... I do have a bad ass & reliable Springfield 1911 set-up for .45Super that fills the bill for now with Buffalo Bore 255 grain hard cast @ 1100fps for my woods sidearm...
