Just looking for some opinions.  I have a nice threaded sig tacops 1911 that I am considering trading for a hk45c LEM.

1911's fit me well and I shoot them well but I have wanted a hk45c for a while.

Actually hk trigger is either v3 or LEM.  I know what the LEM is but am getting conflicting info on V3.

Thoughs?

The Sig 1911, hell, any 1911, will have a far far better trigger than the HK.

That said, the HK will be far more reliable in the long term than any 1911.

Can't help with the HK trigger nomenclature, my HK 45 is a standard DA/SA version, whatever number they give that.

It took me about six months to finally get competent with the HK 45, all because of it's mediocre trigger.

I'd take the HK45c over the Sig.

The V3 has a decocking lever.

V3 is DA/SA with decocker only... The LEM (V7) may be the best choice for you coming off the 1911 SA platform.

Sold my HK45 CT to get a Sig 1911 Tac Ops.........IMHO, the Sig 1911 is more enjoyable for me.

I can shoot it better......however, I'm still not a fan of 1911s........

Note: While I've fondled/shoot a production 1911 or two, my main squeeze is my custom 1911
I like 1911s more than anything else I've tried.

A family member has an HK45c, LEM unit in it.

- The HK45c is a neat size. If you've not held one in person, you might find it's a little larger than you expect, but it's not a big gun.
- Ergonomically it's pretty nice for a modern plastic doublestack gun.
- Very few, if any guns are going to have that "1911 trigger feeling". It's one of the things that makes the gun special, and a big reason why despite the criticisms of weight, capacity, maintenance schedule, cost etc, that the platform has endured. It's not a fair comparison/expectation, IMHO.
- If you want a gun, you should probably get it, because 'merica. And this curiosity/interest gets you to the range, and practicing - both those things help in the long!
- My opinion here? If you would part with a gun, you just don't like it that much, keep searching until you find a gun you "would never get rid of"!
- You can always get another 1911 in the future if you miss it. You might even be able to try different guns, or get a great deal on it and you don't want to pass it up!

I say do it

with the rebate going on you could buy a new 45c for 200 off.

That being said it's really up to you.

I love HK pistols and own 3 myself

(hk45, USP45, and p7)

Both. Keep the Sig 1911 and use the $200 rebate to buy a brand new HK45C.

Off topic but it's very peaceful in this tech section now that the troll is banned and cannot throw out more propaganda anymore

I am now leaning towards the get both idea.   Although, now I want that colt too.   Damn.

You seem to crave drama...just can't leave it alone can you?

There are some who miss Matt/Dan, and there might be just as many or more who would love to see the last of you.

The only one I see stirring up sophomoric drama / nonsense now is you GSL

Give it a rest.

Oh, and OP, I recommend the Glock 19...

If the Sig runs well and you shoot it well, I'd keep it.

The Hk is a fine weapon, but I find HK DA/SA and LEMs difficult to shoot well.

The VP9 OTOH is very easy to shoot well / has a great trigger.

I concur with taking advantage of the $200 rebate and getting the HK without selling the 1911.
