Ed's Pawn in Georgia may still have some for $259. Had some 6906's too, but I can't recall the price on them.

ETA: Crap AIM's are the Tac model, that's pretty darn good.

Third Gen Smith > Sig Sauer P-series

Rationale:

Steel > alumisuck
1/4 Less levers per square inch
Awesome short and fast trigger reset
Not a beretta
Many variants
Look cool
More accurate
Don't rust if you look at them funny
Don't chew up frame rails
Balanced

I'm sure if you're patient you can still get one...

                                                                    ....at the next gun show....

                                                                                                            .....for $550........

I was debating if I should get one and decided against it. I alrwady have a couple and also more importantly... I don't have the money right now.

4506-1

I've wanted a TSW for awhile now, but have always shied away from the $500+ they seem to go for. Now that someone has them at a reasonable price, I'm tapped. My gun fund for the next few months was deplenished recently by a 3914 Lady Smith and a 4506-1.

ETA: Apparently the TSW's are all gone now.

I bought a 5906 a few months ago and other than not saying "tactical" on the slide it appears to be the same thing.

Very well-built, reliable guns.  I just can't stand the stupid safety/decocker on the slide.

It's all what you get used to. I haven't met a handgun yet that didn't have at least one thing I'd change. Although not as prevalent, there are some versions that have a frame mounted decocker sort of like a Sig. The designation for those is XX26.

I would of jumped on one of those if they were 5903s.

Why do I keep buying guns I don't need?

AIM is like my local crack house....

I'm not in love with magazine disconnects, but I can live with it.  And maybe a gunsmith can disable it.

Much better than the Beretta design in regards to inadvertent engagement.  And much easier to go to decock only.

I have a 5906, carried it for my first few years on the job. Great shooter.

How did Smith go from really nice triggers in these to crap triggers in the new M&P line........

The disconnector is a little T shaped part that the long end makes a J, you cut/ grind/file down the left side of the T untill it no longer contacts the Ejector/mag safety.
If you take your slide off you will see the ejector that rides along the left side of the hammer, put a magazine in the mag well and you will see the ejector rides up on the feedlips. When you push the ejector down, it also pushes the T-J shaped disconnector down so the trigger bar will not line up with the sear. Pull your grip off and take out the pins/ plate and you can get the sear/ hammer/ mainspring etc out and the T-J shaped disconnector will come out but you have to shift the J part of it off the Trigger bar.

I used a Dremel cut off wheel to cut the left branch of the T off almost flush with the stem, then used a grinding stone to finish the job. I have done 3 of them in 5906 and 1 in the 4006 and 4516, no problems so far.

Here is a nice picture of a Disconnector about halfway down the page.

I had a 4006 and sold it.  It would have been a nice complement to the 5906TSW I just got.

Looks pretty good.  Some holster wear, but the bore looks very clean.  I haven't shot it yet.
