I have a 19 and 17. Do I need a 26 as well? Is it that much more concealable than the 19?

I think it is much more concealable.
I like it and think it has it's place with the 19 and 17 around. |

When it comes to conceivability, if I am not carrying my 23 (19), I am carrying something thinner such as the Walther PPS, or pocket carrying a LCP. |

I like my 27 a lot. I'm tradeing it for a 26 soon to go with my 19.
It really does conceal better and while not really a pocket gun I have carried it as such in gym shorts on many occasions. It has its place Eta spelling |
26 will pocket carry in fatigues. I used to pocket one in loose jeans on a motorcycle

If you're a true Glock guy ... then yes.
Even if a single stack 9mm is in the upcoming future, it would take some time before it would be readily available. Go for it ... |

For me, the G26 is MUCH more concealable than the 19 because of the shorter butt. I carried a G26 for years with only minor printing problems.
There is a problem, though. The G26 is a thick, chunky beast. It is the same width as the larger Glocks. I finally gave up on the G26 when I found a 9mm Shield for sale. The Shield (and similar guns) is/are MUCH thinner than the G26 and, as a result, it conceals much better, even though the butt is slightly longer. Easier to conceal means easier to carry. Don't get me wrong, the G26 is a GREAT gun. For the time when it was introduced, it was first in its class for concealability, reliability and ease of use. Its time has past, though, and there are better guns out there for concealed carry nowadays. If you can effectively conceal it, go for it and you won't be disappointed. Just be aware that smaller single stack guns, like the Shield, will be easier to conceal. I'll never get rid of mine, no matter what else I may carry, if that tells you anything. Bub75 |

I like the 26. I know it is thick, but for me that helps with shooting it, and I like that I can have a 17 round magazine for the reload. I shoot the 19 faster and more accurately, so I try to carry it most of the time. The 26 is a little easier to conceal though, so it definitely has it's place.
I shot the G26 worse than the G19 and it did not add much in terms of concealment for me so I opted against it. I went back and forth about it for awhile and ended up just buying another G19.
But like people have said above... If you want another excuse to buy a gun then it would be such a good decision ;) |

And yes, as stock length is what I consider to be the biggest limiting factor in concealability, I find the G26 quite a bit more concealable than my G19. |

I shoot my 26 better than any other 9mm Glock. And I have them all. Even a 17L. Don't know why.
YES YOU KNEED one. |

But it has it's role when the 19 is too big. Have been carrying a smith 3913 lately to remain state compliant, so wifey has been carrying the 26. She can't carry a 19 at all. |
I have owned every size handgun Glock makes except a 36, 41, and 42. I still have most of them, and my 26 still gets carried regularly. Even though the 19 isn't "hard" to conceal, there are times when the 26 conceals much better for me.
I honestly don't carry my 26 much. 95% of the time, I'm carrying my 19.
In light of single stack 9's selling so well the last 2-3 years the G26 has become unique which at first May sound odd considering how old the design is and how many have been built over the years. It's fat by comparison and offers a two finger grip. You would be hard pressed to find another pistol that feels like a G26 (maybe the M&P compact which was built to compete with the G26).
I say yes, you need one. |
Yes! I find my Glock 26 easier to conceal during warm weather months than my other handguns.
Shot a buddies at the range. Handled pretty nice, wasn't a fan of the really short grip also pretty wide. I'll give up a few rounds and some weight and keep my p7
Definitely. Any given day, it's a toss up between carrying my 23 or 27. The shorter grip of the 27 does make it much more concealable in my opinion.
I havent carried my G26 in years. G19 conceals as well. Just havent gotten around to sell the 26 yet.

26, 27, 33 are idiotic designs in my personal opinion. The 19, 23, and 32 are where it's at in terms of compactness and capacity.
Having said that, the XDs in .45 beats them all as a CCW. |
I have a 17, 19 as well and am trying to decide on picking up a 26 or 42. I think I am going to go with the 42 for deeper concealment and running.
ETA I prefer appendix carry and think the G42 has a more sigificant increase in concealability. |
Throwing in a vote for the 26. I'm a thinner person, so the 26 is easier to conceal than the 19. So for this handiness and the fact that the baby Glocks are very shootable, I say go for it.
I love my 26 and I carry it 70% of the time. They are very accurate and easy to shoot.
You need one. Extremely size-efficient considering how easy it is to shoot well and the capacity it has. The G26 is my only Glock and my only 9mm.
I have a 27, which is the same size as the 26, yet carry my 19 most of the time. There's something about a gen2 G19 that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Everyone needs a G26. It's the last firearm I would ever sell.

All the others are for hobby. I agree with many that G19 makes a great choice IF you can have only one gun. Otherwise, I think a G26/G17 combo is better. In my opinion, there does not exist a better carry option than the G26. Great concealability. Durable and won't rust. Very light. And you can carry 17 round spare mags. Just no compromise. Lots of shooters report that the G26 is the most accurate Glock for them. |
No way I would give up my 26
GAP floorplates on the mags make a HUGE difference! And it is extremely accurate! I carry it in a MTAC holster and sometimes I even find myself printing a little with just a Tshirt. No doubt I will get a 19 but I don't think I will be able to carry it much in the summer. |

I have been shooting GLOCKs my entire adult life, not to compare brands but instead make a point, I retired my G26 for a Shield. I still use a G19 or G17 for open carry while out and about in the desert. Depending on clothing, I do not consider the 26 more concealable than a 19.
I have the following Glocks:
17 19 22 23 26 30sf I carry the 26 every day. I'm 5'9", 165lbs. 26 conceals best. |
G26 and Raven concealment concealment vanguard II hides very well.
The difference between G19 and G26 depends on your physiology and how you carry it. I can see how it doesn't make a difference for many. But for me, it's a significant difference |
The facts don't lie, the G26 is smaller than a G19, is it enough of a difference to matter to most people? Also like was already posted, I own a G17L and G34, and the G26 shoots right along them, a very accurate and shootable pistol. In the end, I end up CCWing a Kahr or Wather PPS most of the time. I would highly recommend the PPS as a carry gun, it is built like a single stack Glock.

I would conceal carry the 19 (a great pistol by the way), and skip the G26 all together. I've since switched to M&P 40's from Glocks. The M&P40 (mid-size) is about like concealing a G19; but the M&P40c with a Comp-Tac holster totally disappears on me even in football/basketball athletic shorts and a snug T-shirt. |
t shirt weather, I carry the 27. it's invisible. otherwise 23. 23s longer handle does print in a t shirt.
