I've never heard that much complaining about grip safeties. Mag disconnects on the other hand...............

Not a thing to be sorry for -- we've all had different backgrounds/training/experiences that have led us to form different opinions about firearms and their features, and that only makes sense IMHO.
I grew up around a bunch of old school MIL types who swear by 1911 grip safeties and a bunch of LEO types who love mag-disconnects. I understand their reasoning, I just have come to different conclusions.
IMO any (ANY) mechanical device or feature that can render your firearm inoperable CAN (due to malfunction, user error, or whatever else) possibly prevent you from using it when you need it most. Examples over the years abound. They can also prevent horrible tragedies when used correctly in the right situations. As such, these features/devices are always a compromise in one direction or the other. Each of us has to decide where on that continuum we choose to draw that line for ourselves, and on what we will base that decision.
I own and enjoy many firearms with all of the above but, personally, I won't carry a CCW (primary or BUG, and I CC daily) that has a grip safety, mag safety, or manual safety selector. That was not always the case, to be certain, and I fully understand why others draw that line differently than I do.
TL/DNR... short version, "No worries."
