CZ75 or Beretta 92FS/M9

Both are accurate, reliable and very pleasant to shoot. Beretta mags are easy to find and cheap.

A Wolff TCU, "D" mainspring, and metal trigger noticeably improved the trigger pull on my 92FS.

Well if the USP is being considered, then it gets my vote.

It's not really being considered. Mainly trying to stick to striker fired for now and get a DA/SA later

Also it is out of my price range

Rent the VP9 at some range, it feel's like that model is the final apsis of striker designs.

Rented both at the range. VP9 by far has the better trigger and ergonomics to me which makes it totally worth the price.

yep I think I'm gonna go with that. Can find em for around $610-650 shipped plus transfer fee.

LGS has it for $691 but with tax it would be ~$740

not sure where to get it from or if LGS would cut me a deal

Because they suck.  And once you buy one you have to turn into a fanboy and say, "why would you buy that overpriced _____ when a Glock works better for less?"

Yep that's the one that would be $610 because I'd have to pay tax. I also found a LE model with 3 mags and night sights for $699 shipped

You fans have way too much emotional attachment to a tool.

He said no to Glocks, fair enough to the rational minded, but not good enough of an answer to the 'bois.

You've got me wrong. I'm not a Glock fan at all. Just liked the joke!

The M&P might be best with the requirements you listed. The VP9 is a nice shooter but is it worth the extra coin just to have a decent trigger (something I don't think is possible with an M&P) that is up to you.

I have owned M&P pistols including the Shield. I've had them with APEX triggers, and still found them lacking. But they are decent guns for the money.

Glock is the best option of course. The rest are either wasting money or spending more for less.
