What's everybody's favorite pocket pistol in .380? I know people pocket carry small nines and bigger but they aren't really pockets. Neither is my glock 42. So between the bodyguard, lcp, taurus, kel tec, kahr, etc. what are the favorites here?

I don't carry a .380

Why would you when options like the Shield, P938, and XDs are available for a minimal increase in size.

My personal choice is a Shield in a DeSantis Nemesis

ETA: My favorite 380 is the LCP, the P238 is awesome but for that much weight I'm going up to a 9mm

Kahr CW380. Reliable after the first 50 rounds (round count now ~500).  If you can bear the travel and long reset, it's got a smooth trigger.

i dont own a 380 but i do like pocket pistol!!!!  nothing than better for deep concealment or the ease of throwing it in your pocket for a quick trip to the store

Taurus TCP 738 .380 "C" series have shot hundreds of round of all types not one problem at all carry in a sticky in right pocket with extra mag in the left pocket.

My first and only .380 is a Ruger LCP. I can shoot it quite well, it is small, and Ruger has great CS if you ever need to use it. Only negative is the long trigger pull.

Seeing as it's a Kel-Tec clone, I suppose a Kel-Tec P-3AT would probably do and cost less to boot.

About half the time I do carry, I will slip my S&W 342 Airlite into my pocket for 5 rounds of 38 Spl +p goodness.

Same.  I own a Shield and a 642 but have yet to find a comfortable way to pocket carry either.

Stainless LCP in a Nemesis is about as large as I can comfortably carry in my shorts pocket.  I have no idea how people carry Shields and Kahr 9's in their front pocket.  Maybe a cargo pocket, but that would make for an awkward draw.

Once I found the CM9, I abandoned 380 all together. It is small enough for me to pocket carry on the rare occasion that I do so. Granted that is very rare for me. My current pocket carry choices are either the CM9 or a Smith Airweight 38.

My issues with the 380s was of the ones I tried, I had significant reliability issues.

Keltec P3AT - definitely small and light. Great. Sights were horrible, and so small and light, it was a pain to shoot well and fast. It would stovepipe about every other magazine for me. I was the third owner of this gun, I sold it and bought the...

Diamondback 380 - Heavens to Betsy, I thought this was gonna be it. Small light, trigger felt waaayyy better than the keltec. Sights were better. I shot it pretty good. It was reliable for about 150 rounds and then all hell broke loose. It got so that the trigger wouldn't reset. I would have to cycle the gun about 7 times to get it to reset and then try again. I sent it in for repair twice, it would work for about 50 rounds or so. They sent me a new gun the third time and I sold it and bought the...

Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 380 - Sights were pretty good, all black metal sights, laser was okay if you like that sort of thing. it was light, and reliable until the hammer broke. I sent it in and they fixed it. I actually still liked the gun even though the hammer had broke on it once. This was during the time when 380 ammo was hard to find and then I tried the CM9 of a friend. He let me carry it for a week, and I was sold.

My job now doesn't require me to tuck my shirts in anymore so I don't pocket carry very much at all.

I think it is a real challenge to make a very small gun that is both reliable and durable.

Yeah.  Good luck with that.  Most gunfights that are danger close involve shooting from the hip directly from retention and most hits are pelvis and gut.  In other words, you need a big heavy bullet that will penetrate deep and break bones.  The other option is both combatants shooting while moving, preferably to cover.

But hey, if it makes you feel better.

My favorite is my Colt 1908 .380 that is in excellent condition, but I'm more likely to carry my LCP, but I do like my Beretta Tomcat too.

I've tried a few different semi-auto pocket guns, but ended up with an Airweight J-frame in the end, which I carry almost all the time. Although the LC9s did intrigue me enough to purchase one.

J-frame for me, 642 specifically.

Easy to shoot accurately, good ballistics, and can use a versatile range of loads.

As of now, it is the G42.  The Shield is just too heavy for pocket for me, though I do it sometimes.  The smaller .380s just aren't fun to shoot unless I tailor the loads.  The LCP type and size guns are very easy to pocket though.

There is a difference between not being able to read & choosing not to. OP asked for .380 pocket pistols & everyone wants to talk favorite carry piece, regardless of pocket size.

Nano / DeSantis Nemesis fits fine in my back pocket, ymmv. TCP disappears into pockets & fits the .380 requirement.

My uncle used to toss a full-size 1911 in his back pocket, does that count?  I've had my officer's sized 1911 in my front pocket, does .45 trump .380?  Just for discussion since they fit in a pocket, ya know?  If I have to wear a suit and pocket carry its a TCP.  Sure my 938 fits in my pocket but for a slim, lightweight pistol without the bulk of a revolver or bigger pistol it's hard to beat a TCP or LCP.

BTW, I like my shit sammich green or tan, it makes me feel more tacticool.  8^/

Have several pocket pistols.
Seecamp 32
NAA 22 mag
SIG 238 and 938
Colt 1903 in 32
Beretta M21A in 22

Favorite for carry is the Seecamp.

P3AT in a DeSantis Nemesis holster.  It's nice since I also bike to work every day.

However, I keep eyeing the SIG P238 as a potential replacement since Palmetto has them for so cheap.  The only thing really holding me back is the additional weight.

Well, depending on the size of my pockets, and to answer the OP in the proper manner.

My favorite "pocket carry" pistol would be the Colt Pocketlite ...

As I wrote earlier in the thread......

The OP was not asking what is your favorite pocket pistol, but which one in .380 if you do have one. If you like something other than .380 fine, but that is not what the post is about.

Kahr CM40 in an Alabama Holster kydex pocket holster.   Either that or an LCR .38 with no holster.   The CM40 is a great pocket gun but of course it depends on the pocket.

DB380, it's been my go to daily for quite some time now.  I was skeptical after learning how finicky they can be.  I've shot about 400 rounds with nary a hiccup and I trust it.  I've modified the upper part of the back strap to be less pointy.
