The FNP-45 (predecessor to the FNX-45) was the gun with the unsupported chamber issues. The FNX-45 fixed these issues and is a solid gun.

The only people I have heard complain about the FNX complain about the large, blocky grip. If that doesn't bother you I'd say go for it, just realize you're getting another polymer framed 45.
If you don't use the MC OP at all, range, carry ETC I can't really sere a reason to hang onto it If worst comes to worst and you end up not liking the FNX you can probably sell it fairly easily as the tactical are fairly sought after Make sure it's the FDE model

The FNX has a new barrel and magazine design. I think they also fixed the trigger pins to prevent issues with them walking. Many issues you find with the FN are really about the FNP. FNX is a similar, but updated, animal.
