+2 OK it been a couple more weeks... any progress? Still Waiting; sure somes it up. |

I was looking at some handguns today and thought of the Strike One. I want one, unless they turn out to be a POS.
|
|
There is supposedly a ridge in the beavertail on the production pistols. The guy on M4 received his with the ridge as well.
Link to TTAG review, you can see it some pics: |

Hi there, stumbled over this thread via google. I got mine four weeks ago and made some youtubevideos for comparism with the CZ SP01 and the Glock 17. I´m from germany and they are available since end of september in germany. I´m a competition shooter an did a bullseycompetition on the first day I´ve took her from the gunstore.
My expierences till now ran about 400 rounds through the Strike One, most of them 115gr Fiocchi but also other ammo (not that much) and had no malfunction till today It´s ergonomic is very comfortable, especially for guys/girls with smaller hands or shorter fingers, the felt recoil is recognizeable lower than Glock and CZ75. seems, that the pistol shoots very accurate Triggereset is ultrashort, action is very very fast Trigger pull is easy but there is no remarkable point of bang. (didn´t test the weight of pull but i will do it on monday) I will post some pics and the links later |

If they came out with a 4" barrel, 15+1 size grip and dropped the retail price to ~<$650 these things would probably fly off the sale racks.
I live about 10 miles from the importer and may swing by and see whazzup.

Wasnt it picture or videos somewhere the mags were supposed to have a glass breaker in them?
|

Very interesting, thanks for posting this! That little cleaning kit is pretty cool, I like that they included that. I sure wish I had the money to get one of these, sounds like they are living up to their claims.

Yes, it´s a bit tricky to grip her that high, but for a proper grip you must grip her there. And it works really well with a little training. You can see the slide pushing over your web an it fells like its cutting through your Hand, but there´s no way you will ever get bitten by the slide. I´m also shooting my biggest love, a 1911, and you grip the ASO in a completely different way than a 1911 or a Glock.
And now i will continue to deliver some more pics. |

I had the opportunity to shoot one today and really liked it. The trigger seemed quite light and the reset was very short. You can get a high grip on the pistol and my support hand thumb was above the frame. I got a little less than 5 inch groups shooting 2 rounds a second at 15 yards my first go around with it. I didn't do any slow fire but it seemed to be a very capable pistol. I wish the rear sight tips were a touch wider but that's OK.
- Mags seemed very well made, strong springs. - Grip felt nice. A little bigger wouldn't hurt me but I run backstraps on my Gen 4 Glocks so YMMV. - Recoil seemed very light. - The action was pretty smooth and slick all around. - Controls were firm and not mushy - Trigger was not bad. A bit of creep but a good break and a super short reset. I wouldn't mind a # or 2 heavier but I like standard Glock connectors. If you like the 3.5 this would probably be right down your alley. - OK frame texture but it needs more soldering iron, I like cheese grater style. I'm pretty sure the owner considered harming me when I suggested that though. All in all, I like it so far. I'd buy one if I was in the market for a new pistol. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Nice. I haven't seen anything to get excited about in handguns lately, but I am definitely interested in this one.

Thank you for sharing this with us Medinzinman....
At times I still wish I would have gone though with the acquisition of the Strike One, but I've been out of the country for so long and I really don't need another 9mm...however, I still want one... Do you own a Glock 17 by chance? I'm curious if you would give us a comparison between the two if you own one, or could get a hold of one. A comparison of the VP9 would be interesting as well. |
|
I will own one if the price comes down to the sub $700 level.
|
|
|
|
Intriguing gun/concept w/ some innovation. Will see how they turn out and let supply come on line to hopefully bring price down. In the dimension specs it seems they have some numbers for a compact version but have not read anything about it.

View Quote As far as I know, it´s a basic human right to have regular access to a Glock :-) sorry just kidding. Yes, I have daily access to a Glock 17 with standard trigger setup. But comparing the Glock with the Strike One isn´t a fair deal. The Glock is the million sold working horse for duty and the Strike One is an italian teenage diva. I like the Glock very much, it is a reliable and solid gun and you have a ton of gear and stuff and thing for Glocks, most of this stuff is affordable. The Strike One is is a bit longer and heavier as the Glock, the Glock weighs empty about 720gramms, the Strike One 930gramms both take 17 rounds. The trigger of the Strike One is way better than the Glocktrigger, its a bit difficult to explain, but the trigger feels like the 3.5lbs trigger of a Glock with a linear pull over the full travel. The biggest advantage over the Glock is the felt recoil. And till now I can´t honestly say if it is really less recoil or less felt recoil, but the muzzle flip is much lesser than those of the Glock or the USP or the CZ SP01 Shadow, you are faster back in control and on the target. The Strike has a ultrashort trigger reset and a very fast cycling rate, it´s really hard to explain, how shooting this pistol feels, but it feels really good. Also, if you shake the Strike One, you won´t hear anything, no rattling no loosen parts, everything sits tight an fits. One important part of the "felt recoil" ist the lean grip, your whole hand is in contact with the grip, what gives you additional control over the gun, you can reach the trigger easy and comfortable, even with smaller hands. A good friends wife shot the Strike and she liked the grip most of all guns she has ever shot |
|
|
wonder what the measured muzzle rise is for this compared to similar popular guns?
|
|
What I really want to see is a recoil comparison with the M&P.

Meh... Looks like a glock to me.... I wouldn't pay anything more than what the going price is on a glock 17. Just doesn't seem like it's worth the extra money.

Understood. For me that's a good odd.
I’m looking forward to a different design (well, at least before I hold/shoot it). |

I just picked up my Arsenal Strike One today. All I can say after just one trip to the range is that this gun is a bit weird, but it seems to be well worth it. I will hopefully have a review up soon on YouTube. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r89/PlayboyPenguin/ASO_zps1f99b73a.jpg View Quote That is a sweet looking handgun in my opinion. |

I really wish it didn't dip down after the breech towards the barrel. I wish the slide had cuts in it similar to what the USP, M&P, Sig, etc. have. And I wish the frame looked like the P01 and SP01 |

I've been passing this thread over for quite some time with a quiet wtf... After reading some and visiting the website, I am now ready to deliver a full WTF + . Who in his right mind chooses to be a retail beta tester for this bullshit? Seriously...buy a "strike clone" aka GLOCK and enjoy. If this is an improvement, we'll know in a few years and can buy with confidence. Looks like a joke to me...if I am wrong I will buy one in 3 years for less. View Quote The way that it functions is actually completely different. The locking block and barrel are two pieces, and the locking block falls slightly when the pistol is fired, which allows the barrel to unlock and move in a straight line rearward. Because the barrel doesn't rotate, it means that it doesn't really matter how heavy or long the barrel is, and allows it to use SMG or PCC suppressors, or a standard pistol suppressor without the need of a Nielsen device. That, and the low bore-axis, is why I'm interested in this gun. I like suppressed guns. Although the pistol is still pretty fucking ugly. |

Jesus, didn't we already do the multipage Glock, not a Glock, striker fired whatever a few pages back.
Talk about the gun, now that someone owns one. Take the non technical comments to GD. |
