I'm probably wrong but where are you going to get replacement parts for a pistol that's not been manufactured in 20+ yrs?
I"m referring specifically to the 3rd generation S&W pistols. |

Some 92f beretta's showing up too.
Mostly S&W (often DAO), Glock 17s, SiG 226 & Beretta 92... Doesn't seem any of the departments are turning in Lugers or Hi-Powers... |

It seems that 3rd gen pistols are still being made (or at least still supported) for some law enforcement agencies. Midway sells just about everything but frames (they even sell slides which appear to be a 30-90 day special order directly from S&W) for the 3rd gen firearms. |

Do what?? I assume p-38s right? I found a guy on Gunbroker with a metric-ass-ton of Hi-Powers, I'll be picking one of those up in a few weeks. |

The guy I got the link from over on HKpro is local to them, and says they are good to go. But I've got no experience with them personally. If I was in the need of another USP or USPc, I'd nab one of these. |

I bet the Compact does because a G19 fits me better than a 17. |

I bet the Compact does because a G19 fits me better than a 17. The USP is a large gun. When I bought my Caracal F, I initially thought that they had mistakenly sent the compact because it is dwarfed by the USP. If you prefer the G19 to the 17, definitely get the USPc. |
