I really need a better camera.

FN HP w/ Navridex grips

My first handgun was a BHP and I sold it to buy my SA 1911, but I always missed it. I replaced it awhile ago when CDNN had the FN MKIII's on sale.

Thanks. JM Browning is (was?) a genius. Function, yet there's a certain elegance of his pistol's lines. You can't get that from a USP or combat tupperware.

But you guys knew that already

My Browning made in 1978.  Ya it's thrashed a little, but works perfectly.

My Belgian.

Back story, I picked it up at a gun show in Honolulu.  Someone had painted the sights with I don't know, nail polish or something.  I've since blackened them back.  I've had it ever since then, that was more than 10 years ago.

The park on it has picked up color from everything I've ever put on it (oil, sweat, blood, etc.).  It came out green in the photo, but it's really pretty grey, except for the grip, where it has some brown in the park from me sweating on it so many hours on Schofield Barracks and such parts.  No amount of kroil and steel wool is going to take that out, I imagine.

Edit to fix typos...

Wanted one ever since I first heard about the "Vigilante" Hi-Power.

This one has a Cylinder and Slide hammer, sear, and wide trigger. Trigger pull is very sweet, and I can't complain about the Novaks either! The Spegels are gone; I replaced them with Navidrex black micarta grips.

Hey Hobbs, you make me want to keep my .40!

Ever think about getting a 9mm barrel for it?
Link Posted: 2/4/2006 8:25:08 PM EDT
[#43]
Not really, since I have a couple 9mm BHPs.  I'm actually going to sell this .40 next week after I blue it.

My chrome Hi Power with C&S wide trigger, Hammer and upgraded sear lever.

My 68 T series tangent, I doubt if original owner even fired this gun. Blueing is perfect!

Is that 2nd hole in the slide for the upgraded sear lever?

How much difference did it make?

Link Posted: 2/10/2006 7:07:29 PM EDT
[#48]
Yeah, that's it. It change the pivot point of the sear lever and can get you 1lb off your trigger pull. Works pretty good for me.

[#49]
Hobbs, is that .40 bead blasted or did you use chemical to remove the matte finish?
Link Posted: 2/11/2006 2:28:01 AM EDT
[#50]
Bead blasted.  I usually bead blast after doing any metal work in case there are tool or file marks I might have missed.
