I tightened the slide\frame fit. 40 lpi serrations on slide and sights. 40 lpi checkering front and rear. High cut frontstrap. Trigger was straightened some. Beveled magwell. Safeties were reshaped.  Welded and reshaped beavertail.  Blued finish, Spiegel grips.

Thanks, the hardest part is sanding out the rough surfaces, that finish was rough.  It's not the parkerizing, those just came from the factory without any nice finish work.

The parkerizing could just be blasted and hot blued as is, if you didn't mind the rough surfaces.  Mine was sanded down and bead-blasted prior to hot tank bluing.  Slide flats are polished to 600 grit.

I would put that in the top three best looking Hi Powers I have seen, and I've seen a lot.

Here is mine.
A 72C series HP.  The hard chrome finish, safeties and the extended beaver tail were all added in the late 70's.  Now it's part of my conceal carry rotation sporting CT lase grips and Novak sights.

That is beautiful. Do you carry it / shoot it? If you do, how hard is the safety to manipulate? I ask because I have a small safety and ring hammer MK II and the safety is a bear to manipulate on / off.

Hi-Power Uber Alles!

The perfect Hi-Power package.....

.40 S&W perfection with 9mm Compactness. The spare FM Detective slide really makes it that much more better. The combo is great.... all the fun of a 9mm with the serious power of the .40 S&W. Removed the mag safety of course.

A 1911 can only wish to be this beautiful.

A sample of Don Williams work...It was stolen, used in a murder and sat rusting and beat in a police locker for many, many years before it was returned.

Don restored it to a superb modern fighting tool both inside and out.

Here is a FN High Power Grand Pressant made in 1937. It was take into the Belgian Military, captured by the Germans then captured by and American soldier near the end of WII and brought to the US.  Anthony Vanderlinden is presently investigating the FN archives to see if there is any Belgian history on this gun.

Build thread

Have put probably another 300ish 147 speer lawman through it with no issues.  Last 200ish have been the cleanfire that SGAmmo was selling.

Run it in that BHP and AR9 because of suppressor.  Swap that Omega back and forth between those two.  Love that can.

Great deal, wish my local shops had some decent prices. Two shops here had a Argy HP for $799, and a regular Browning for $1400

Just picked up an Izzy Surplus off the EE, so I don't have any photos yet, but I wanted to say two things:

1) Eff PhotoBucket for destroying so many amazing photo threads throughout the interwebz.

2) I saw a post in here from the great Hobbs5624, who is no longer with us and is sorely missed.

Gimme a week or so and I'll have a photo to share though!
