I have suddenly have the urge to have a chopped Hi Power .
I know I could buy an FM but I think I will try to find a slide and barrel for the one I have now since I already have money into the trigger etc .

  Anyone know if they are still out there ? I know Sportsman Guide had them at one time

I lucked into a factory detective in good condition about a year ago. Since then I have seen very few for sale

I was lucky enough to get one several years back, just before they dried up, still wish I had bought a couple of the conversion kits that were only 200 bucks from Sarco.

I see them from time to time on Gunbroker, but they are usually cost prohibitive for a second or third version.  However, if it's something you really want to pick up, it may not be cost prohibitive to you.

Detectives prices are going crazy.  Conversions too as I've heard.  I just saw on another forum that a Detective that went for over $1100 on auction.
