If you ever hear someone tell you they have a Luger that looks like a Hipower, don't discount them right away. Here's a Hipower clone, made in Hungary by FEG that is marked "M80 Luger". There's a great reference blog on these weapons, according to the author, most, if not all went down to South Africa before being sold to the importers in the US. This particular one combines some P35 features, such as a ring hammer and small safety, and some Mk III features, such as a magazine safety, which has been removed. The bluing on this one is very bright and shiny and the pistol has been 100% reliable and very accurate, at about half the cost of an FN or Browning.
