it seems with the hi power with adjustable sights,they machine more metal out of the slide where the only sights you can use are adjustable..thats what i have been told anyhow..am i wrong?

Not necessarily "wrong".......it might just take more money than it's worth to try to find a set of fixed sights to fit within the adjustable sight dovetail that is present in your slide. That being said, call Wayne Novak, the 1911-smith. He does great work on BHPs, and might be able to make you a solution. |

Tip on "high" end guns, Hi Powers & 1911's. You want to either keep em original or keep all your original parts.
That helps the value of the gun down the line. Nothing wrong with customizing a gun to your liking, however you will keep or improve the value by going with a known gunsmith. Make sure that smith saves your original parts and gives them back to you. They have value in of themselves and to the wholeness of the gun. |
