I have one and never encountered this. Sounds like your getting hung up on the mag button, I'd send it in.

Are you slamming it in?

My recently sold PF-9 had the mags stick a little when inserting them as well. They also seemed to drop out at random times during recoil which had nothing to do with accidentally hitting the release. I tried 3 different brand new metal mag releases with 4 different magazines and even a new grip from KT and it was always the same. I recently sold it though due to the peening issues around the barrel banging into the slide plus the other issues mentioned. If anything, call KT and have them send you a new magazine release for free. I've had many great KT products but recently they seem to have turned into a company where at least 50% of their customers are sending in NIB pistols for repair or requesting replacement parts as soon as they get them. My billfold P3AT seems to be having no issues with mag drops after I changed out the catch with an aftermarket metal type so it looks to be a keeper for now. |

My new PF9 needs to be slammed in. (Which is fine with me, I sorta like that.
Dunno how it might wear, it's still only a month or two old and hasn't been shot much yet.
If the mags don't go in at all without depressing the button, I'd say the pin the button is created from is probably machined wrong and it needs to be replaced. |

My first PF9 had that problem. It was a burr on the mag catch. I took it out, stoned it and now it works like a charm.
Bought the wife a PF9, and the mags slide in like butter. I own five Keltecs, and this was the worst problem I've encountered so far. Just wish PMR30 mags would become more available/cheaper. And RFBs and KSGs would flood the market. ![]() |

I am not sure if PF-9 mags and accessories are just always in low supply, or if WI's new CW law has drained the supplies. Some of the stuff is third party so it could be the latter.
My one PF-9 mag works flawlessly, but it would be nice to have five of them. All I'd have to do is accidentally step on it or something and I'd have a useless pistol.

Mine catches too, but other than that it runs great. Love the PF9.

I picked up several on the cheap off of gunbroker and auctionarms. If you bid on the three and four packs, they are cheaper than one at a time. |

I had three PF9 Mags that I bought used that did not drop free. Called KT Customer Service; they said to send them on back. They sent out three NIW Mags with 3 Finger Extensions for the trouble. They support their products 100%. BTW the new mags all drop free perfectly. The key is to CALL the CS guys.

Give it time and force it in I know that sounds bad but it works and it will not damage anything...
