Depends on the gun, one of mine runs a 11.5 lb. spring without issue the other needs a 13.5

15lb ignites everything, I'd do 13 for a competition pistol.

15 lbs works well for me.  I haven't tried anything lighter.

I have two full size CZ 75 (SP-01 and a pre B) and both are running the 11.5lb hammer springs both with a CGW extended firing pins. Both have been 100% reliable with any factory brass cased ammo I have  tried. They are both range/competition pistols.  If they were carry guns I would use a 13 lb in a full size. In a compact carry gun 11.5 or 13 lb since all of the replacement springs are full size. I actually have an 11.5 lb hammer spring in my Compact D, but haven't shot it since installing the spring. It will also get an extended firing pin.

A CGW or a CZ Custom extended firing pin is cheap insurance if you want to go lower on the hammer spring weight to reduce trigger pull. It is one of the first purchases I will put in any new or used CZ I buy. I know CGW running a 15 lb hammer spring or lighter with their extended firing pins.

It depends on the primers, and whether or not you will be using an extended firing pin. And if you want to be able to run the .22 Kadet kit.

I have about 1000 rounds through my new Shadow Target.  It has an ext firing pin.

8.5lb spring and it lights off Federals no problems.  Won't fire anything else.

13lb spring lights off everything I've thrown at it.

II wouldn't use anything less than the 13# in a SD pistol, but if it is a range/target the 11.5 is fine.
