THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Guys, Im torn right now about getting this gun. It looks to fit the niche Ive been trying to fill for awhile. I just have one question...can I make it SAO? What would that entail...just drop in a trigger? Same for an adjustable rear sight...is this just a drop in or would it require machining of the slide? Lastly...would this be IPSC Production legal to do these modifications?

No SAO in Production. Yes, you can probably just drop in a trigger. Drop in adjustable sights? There aren't any you'd want on your gun. The stock rear sight is fine, nothing to break, but a nice thing fiber optic front sight from Dawson is an improvement.

SAO limited = needs to be a .40 if you are worried about staying competitive or stay production In 9mm and practice that first DA pull and mag changes.

You can buy a SP01 with adjustable rears. Look at the CZ webpage for some almost race ready and race ready models.

Im not even going to get into just how ridiculous it is that a single action CZ wouldnt be legal but all of the polymer framed guns are okay...mind boggling.

When it comes to 'load and make ready' with a DA/SA...cant I just throw a magazine in, rack the slide, and drop the gun in the holster? Would I ever have to manually decock the weapon?

I presume this is a 1911 thing. Production division keeps out all single actions. But, the 1911s have their own damn category anyway. I'd be happy to shoot a .40 or .45 if the cost was not prohibitive.

Yes you would have to manually decock the gun. Its not a big deal to do it, just practice dry first then move on to live fire.

That seems like a huge disadvantage...Id rather rack the slide in the beginning and fire all from single action. Hopes have been dashed...

If you are willing to shoot Limited or Limited-10 you can start 'cocked and locked'... at minor PF in 9mm.

But as it stands today, Production in USPSA and SSP in IDPA you start hammer down... which doesn't stop the Shadows from being extremely popular production guns in IPSC.

I'm a CZ-75 Shadow owner, specifically bought for 'range use' and SSP / Production competition, if I ever get my Saturday mornings back again.

Definitely a heck of a gun. Looked to be THE ONE for Production. I will have to see if anyone local has one to try out...
