Ok, so I came across a video of someone showing the differences in play between a standard guide rod and a dpm guide rod. The dpm one only let's the slide go back so far which in turn helps reduce the recoil. So does anyone have one or used one? If so is it actually a noticeable difference in the recoil? Is it just a gimmick?

I bought one for shits and grins. Haven't tried it out yet but I honestly believe I will not be able to tell the difference.

You think you might be able to post your thoughts on it once you get around to trying it out? Be interested in seeing if it actually does what it claims.

Is this the video you are talking about?

Sorry, I don't know how to embed the video.

I am also in for some first-hand info on this. Was thinking about buying one for my SP-01 Tactical.

I'll post back in a week or 2. I have 2 duplicate SP01's minus the recoil rod so it will be fair and balanced comparison

Sounds good. Interested in hearing a comparison between the two.

My CZ 75B in .40 cal came with a full length stainless guide rod standard. Seems like a pretty good idea, IMO.

I tested out the DPM guide rod yesterday. I can't really tell if it helped or not. It is nicely constructed and of high quality but as far as cost to benefit I think it is a waste.

That being said maybe it helps with + type ammo. Maybe another test but at this time I would say save your money and not buy it.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't quite sure if it would've really helped out all that much. Seeing as there really isn't a whole lot of recoil to begin with.

Basically the same concept as the STI Recoil Master.

A device that is noted to not be particularly popular with a group normally obsessed with trying to maximize control over recoil - competitive action pistol shooters.
