I'll play

Both are of my 2009 SP-01 Tactical. First pic is of the stock rubber grips, second pic is with a set of VZ Tactical Diamonds, in the "Black Desert Sand" G10. Absolutely love the VZ's. Like them much better than the stock rubber grips. I have smaller hands, and the thinner profile is much more comfortable for me. Plus I like the more aggressive grip texture on the VZ's.

Thanks Maynard. I thought the inletting on the back of the grips would be a huge pain in the a$$ but it really wasn't that bad.
Nothing my trusty Dremel couldn't handle

Getting ready to carve a set for my green frame tactical 75 next.

I also just picked up a set of CZ half checker cocobolos for my polished stainless 75 but I haven't got any pics yet.

They're a little slippery for my taste but considering this is my (only) "BBQ" gun it dosen't matter to me cause they sure look good!

I'd like to try some of the VZ's. I got a couple sets for my 1911's and they rock

I'm looking at grips for my Stainless and SA and was hoping to get some idea from this thread,

I'm thinking the solid green diamond backs for the SA

Not sure yet what I'm doing with the Stainless....

VZ grips do rock.

Was just thinking how a set of ivory grips would look on the CZ's.

Hogue makes fake-ivory grips, but none of them are checkered.

I've always liked the earlier waffle grips, to me they look exotic. Vintage Grips sells them and offers different colors. They're very close to the originals in black, but I sure was tempted to try white or ivory. Kinda makes me me want to do another Pre B, maybe blued with white or ivory waffles.

Not a great picture but my "bling" CZ75 B in .40 S&W with blonde checkered grips:

The only CZ I have that doesn't have waffle-pattern grips is my Compact.

How do the old style grips feel compared to the new plastic and or rubber factory grips?

Oh, and here is my 75B in two iterations of grips...

After ditching the stock plastic grips I went to the rubber tactical grips and really liked them. Then I got the "wood is so pretty" bug and put a set of the CZ wood grips on it. They do indeed look great, but I just hated the way it felt. Too slippery. So I went back to the rubber grips. For me these work the best.

Any advise or tips on how to get started on DIY micarta grips? It looks like knifemaking supply companies sell the micarta.

Thanks!

Here's the thread that got me started. Just beware that there was some "drama" at this website and the OP pulled his photos but there are still many photos from other posters and plenty of other info.

Here's a thread I posted on CZ forum with a few pics of my grip project. Not the greatest pics and I left out a few steps but you'll get the idea.

"How do the old style grips feel compared to the new plastic and or rubber factory grips?" I believe they're a bit thicker. Some folks prefer the feel of the early waffle grips to the later checkered ones and I remember the older CZ75's were so exotic before the wall fell, sort of a forbidden fruit. The older grips and the Pre B rounded trigger guard went well together. After 88 the newer checkered grips became standard and right before the B Model arrived sometime after 94, the ugly squared trigger guard (to my eyes) became the norm.

Finally took some pics of my new CZ75,when I ordered the pistol I ask them to send me the full checker grips.Well I guess the misunderstood me and sent me the half checker.
After looking at them for awhile I think I like them better then the full checker.

And the CZ with my 1911's.

These may be the ugliest thing you can put on a CZ, but they feel pretty damn good.

After looking at some of the grips on this thread I decided to paint mine with Krylon Fusion. It has held up OK not great but they still look pretty cool!

So I had a birthday not too long ago and my wife and son bought me some VZ grips:

I'm very happy with both sets and took them shooting tonight. On the SA are army green VZ grips diamond backs and on the stainless are VZ black frags.

The army green on the SA are very aggressive and provide superb grip. The black frag grips are much less aggressive but still provide excellent grip and won't tear up shirts like the diamond back grips have a tendency to do.

The SA is up to 1150 rounds and I had the first stoppage tonight when it failed to return to battery on round 1073. I re-chambered the round and it fired without issue.

^^^ Nice green grips! Are they "flatter" than stock ones? I am looking into the CZ75 P01.
