Found this compact model for sale at a local shop last night for $320 with two mags and a Wolff 22 lb recoil spring.  It's the compact model.  I read all the horror stories about cracked slides from a few years back, but I haven't heard anything about it in a while.  Hopefully with the stronger spring installed, it'll hold out for a while.  It's a 2016 model, so maybe they've straightened things out.  It's not going to be a high round count gun, I'm sure, so I'm not too overly concerned.  Sweet trigger on this one.  Assuming it runs properly, I'll make it a woods gun just for fun.

Anyone else have one of these little guys?

I've been pondering getting one as I love 10mm pistols and I'm a huge fan of the CZ75 platform this is based upon.
It seems like a natural for me to like.

Locally, I think I can get one NIB for a hair under 500$... would be a no-brainer at 320$, but at 500$ I'm hesitant as I can get actual CZ stuff (9mm and 45acp though...) for that cash.

@Chris_1522  I'm not sure what you mean by scalloped slide.  Here's the only pic I have handy at the moment of my ejection port:

What was different on the older models?

Thanks for the help!

Disregard, I googled and figured out what you were talking about.

Now I need to get to the range!!

I would buy that for $320 even just as a conversation piece. Nice!

Do CZ75 parts fit? How much aftermarket fun can you have with the Witness? I had a 10mm Witness once, and wanted only a flatter trigger.

CZ75 parts do not fit, frame size is much different.  Witnesses were/are made with small and large frame size.  Most common in the US is the Large frame (which can handle .45acp and 10mm as well as 9mm/40sw/38super), the small frame is close to CZ75 size, grips fit the small frame with some work and mags might work in the small frame.

Aftermarket it somewhat scarce, but there are a few specialist shops that sell parts / upgrades.  For the large frame guns, MecGar makes mags that work great.  Wolff spring kits abound, Hennings and a few others make go-fast parts such as upgraded guiderods and firing pins and such.  Aftermarket grip options are thin... Tanfoglio aren't well known for consistency in frame spec year to year and as a result grips may drop in fine, or require fitting.  Haven't looked for grips for the compact Witness, but I sprung for a set of Hennings grips for my full size.  Nice thin aluminum grips (took about 0.2" off the width of the grip... nice) but spendy.

Flat triggers do exist... they're for SAO conversions.  Looking at doing one in my full size 10mm Witness at some point.

Still pondering a compact 10mm version...

My Witness Steel Compact in 45ACP is headed to EAA Customer Service.

Firing pin is stuck in it's channel and won't reset.

Lady that answered the phone didn't want to hear anything about my issues, just said 'send it in'.

And I'm expected to pay shipping both ways.

Was planning to buy a Witness Steel Full size in 10mm, not after that conversation.
