Hey guys, I pried the magazine release button spring out of the TP9 frame. I then removed the magazine release button and reversed it from right handed shooters to left handed shooters. Then, I tried to put the spring back into the frame. Absolutely impossible.

After some googling, there is no guide for how to do this. However, I did compress the spring in some needle nose pliers and have my girlfriend wrap the spring in dental floss to hold its compressed state. This worked. I was able to slip the spring back into the frame and then use a knife to cut and remove the dental floss. I pushed the spring back into the magazine release button. There is hardly any tension on the spring.

Without a magazine in the frame, the spring rattles. If you insert a magazine, there is a click sound but it's not something I'd be confident in. I cannot pull the magazine from the frame with all of my might so the button is definitely holding the mag in.

I believe in compressing the spring, it lost its springiness. Do you agree? If so, what are my options? I cannot find where to buy new Canik magazine release button springs.

I don't think that's the case because I did something similar to get mine in and mine works. I think the spring perhaps isn't all the way in the mag catch. After the hell that was reversing the mag catch I had a lot of time to inspect it and see how it works and I believe the long end of the spring has to go into the tunnel below the mag catch, that's where the spring presses against to spring into place.

I'd push the spring further down until it clicks or try to inspect it and see if the long leg of the spring is in that channel.
