Anyone have any info or insight on this little gun? Someone just offered one to me for $200 so I picked it up. I figured I shouldn't really go wrong with spending $200 and it's not a big loss if the things no good. Just trying to get a feel for it. I haven't shot it yet, but it feels of sturdy construction and feels good in my hand. Damn thing looks like a Sig and a 1911 had sex though.. lol

I had one in .45ACP. They also came in 9mm and .40S&W.

It was my carry gun for a while. Back then (pre-internet days), it was virtually impossible to get extra mags, so I sold it off. Of course now, you can find the mags...lol.

I liked the simplicity of it. Traditional DA/SA with a hammer drop. No manual safety (for those that don't know, the "thumb safety" lever is actually a hammer drop, not a safety). It was all steel, so it wasn't the lightest carry gun, but being fairly small it carried easily. Accuracy was average, not match, but plenty good enough for the job. What I liked the most about it was it was a no-nonsense gun. Practical design, no gimicks, and everything was sized to fit well. The grip was long enough to hold onto, but not overly long, so it was still easy to conceal while allowing all your fingers on the gun. The trigger was in the right place. The whole gun was just the right size for what I wanted. The only drawback at the time was one mag and I couldn't find another.

I think it's well worth $200. If I could find another .45, I'd pay more than that.

yeah, this one is a 9mm. I still have yet to shoot it, but hopefully I will on Friday. Like you said, it does feel good in the hand so hopefully I made a good buy.

You got a good deal on that, I have a R.A.P. 401 that is an exact copy of your's and would not sell it for nothing. I would of snagged that up quickly without hesitation.

In all honesty, the 9mm is probably the better caliber for that gun. The .45 was a tad stout in that compact. The 9mm will recoil lower and probably have less wear and tear in shooting. I'd pay more than what you did for a 9mm without batting an eye. You did well.

Yes, I also think you did well. Seems like a deal. I don't have an A-75 but I have an A-70 9mm single action and it is a great little steel weapon. Mine shoots to point of aim and has handled every kind of ammo I've run through it. I've been looking for another one and they're rare it seems. Good on you.

I've owned an Astra A-80 in .45 for quite a few years now. It's a very reliable firearm for sure. I love the way it feels in the hand. But like said before, I just wish mags were available for it. I just have the one and am always on the look out for at least one more.

Had one a long time ago. Great gun. Took my first CHL class with it. Buddy had the A75 in 40 cal. Both great. Would love to have another and at 200 bucks, what a buy...

I'm such a lazy shit. I still have yet to go shoot this damn thing, and I keep looking at it every day sitting in my safe. Maybe this weekend coming up I'll finally shoot it.

Way back in the dark ages, I owned both an A-75 in .40, and an A-80 in 9mm. Both were really heavy, but totally reliable, and accurate enough for social work.

Had one in .40 cal. Great little gun. Never a problem. Except as already mentioned- mags.

Sold it. Bought it back. Traded it. Bought it back. Sold it...

I really liked it but I kept finding something else that I needed more and I didn't have the cash to "just get them all".

They are very well made pistols. I have one in 9mm & one in 40 S&W. The 9mm was more accurate than my P5 at the range in my hands & a friend. Mags are plentiful right now. You did well & if not pleased will have no trouble selling/trading.

My first pistol was an A-75L. Same as yours but with an aluminum frame. It was a nice shooting pistol and sturdy.

I had a R.A.P. 440 which is based off the Astra and took Astra mags. Shot well and was a solid pistol.

I have a later 75 L (lighter) with a greenish finish.
It has been totally reliable. I also love the size. Great pistol!
