THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT First impressions - very nice! The grip is one the best I've felt in a handgun. Points so naturally. The reviews I've heard of it are very positive. Anybody own one? |

I have one and love it! The trigger is better than the stock Glock trigger. The down side is there are not many after market parts available.
A Holster makes a excellent holster for the M9. |

I like mine. It had problems extracting. I slipped a 1911 plunger spring inside the factory extractor spring, problem solved.

I've had one for a few years now as my every day carry. It's been great, the trigger is much better than Glocks in my opinion and the ergos are wonderful, everyone comments on how good it feels in the hand when they shoot it. It's been extremely reliable, I just had my first failure (FTE) in about 3 or so years, and it was with the cheapest B-grade remanufactured plinking ammo I could find, so I'm betting it was just a weak charge. Great gun, the sights are awesome.

I have five, 4 9mm and one 40/357. It is my main carry pistol and has been 100% for years. If u like a g19 you may like this better. Excellent ergos, accurate, and now an improved trigger on the new models. These have been through Tactical Response pistol and rifle classes plus many other lesser known courses all 1000 round counts zero problems. For more info. Check out www.steyrclub.com

I liked mine when I had a .40 S&W. The recoil is very distinctive - more straight back than flip. Sometimes you can find a deal locally or on CDNN but not as much to be found on mags.

Mags can be easily found, they are available from steyrs website directly, or from a ton of distributors on the internet including midwayusa. All you have to do is google "steyr ma1 magazines" and there were nearly 30 vendors carrying them last time I looked. |

Wife and I each have M9A1s. I don't think either has evrer experienced a FTF/FTE. We got them when they were cheap and plentiful but unsupported. Haven't found the need for anything yet so can't comment on repair ease/affordablility. Great pistols.

Any idea if the pistols available at dansammo are the newer version with the improved trigger?

They are not. The new ones have a roll pin in the slide up next to the rear sight.

Where did you guys buy your Steyr's? I purchased one from these guys; http://www.fivesevenammo.com/shop/page28.html .
I wonder if it is one of the frankensteyr over runs. It's at my FFL and they have bankers hours. I'm like a kid a Christmas, I want it now. I may leave work early today and pick it. |

I read an article on the new trigger, but it didn't elaborate on why it was changed. I've had my M9-A1 for a while; the trigger is much better than stock XD or Glock triggers. I kind of like the trapezoid sights...once you get use them, they are pretty fast. ROCK6 |

I don't know the specifics of the changes but it's supposed to lighten the pull a little. Apparently the BT spring cups will give similar results which is what I did since I have the older model.

I just picked up 4 mags from Dans for $75.00. They also had 2 for $40. I was surpised that my PW M9 came with 3 mags. I still have not had it out at the range yet.

placed an order on the new steyr c9-a1, my first steyr pistol. as for the new trigger on these this is what i found on an article
"now a small pin beneath the rear sight bisects the striker firing-pin channel. A small roller on this crosspin allows the striker to move much more smoothly during the compression stage of a trigger pull" as a result, the take up is much more continous in feel and consistent shot-to-shot. |

I bought a M9 from CDNN years ago when they were dirt cheap. Took a couple hundred rounds to break in, but it's been flawless ever since. After untold thousands of rounds I finally wore out the original extractor. A call to SAI had me a new improved extractor with no questions

I have about 800 rounds thru my pw arms frankenSteyr. I shot about 200 rounds today. Once again no FTF or FTE's. The trap sights are quite interesting, I like them. Shell extractions give some insight into shoorter error. When anticipated the round will come back and hit you in the head. Limp/weak/fatigue wrist, shell will pop up and out maybe 6 to 8 inches.at the most. I shoot isosceles, so when locked out firm, extractions are strong and land about 4 to 6 feet away. I was shooting 20 year old federal classic 115 JHP.

I am considering picking up an M9-A1 here soon.
Nobody locally has them. I see cheaperthandirt as well as budsguns have them. Anyone know else may carry them? Ideally i would like to get one of the newer models manufactured after 2011 that supposedly have a better trigger. Also, how does the full size M9-A1 compare in size to a G19? |
