THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT However, now I am reading some claims on some forums that the recoil between the two is not much different at all. Anyone here have both? Opinions? |

Recoil is a matter of perspective. I bring a .44 magnum to the range a lot of times and after shooting that, the PM9 feels like a .22. That really shrinks the groups from the PM9.

I have a PM9. A friend has an MK9.
I wouldn't carry an MK9 due to the weight. I do have an E9 that's my 'range Kahr'. If you want a steel framed Kahr that you won't carry, get aK9. |

Had a MK9. Too heavy for pocket carry.
Traded it for a Sig P225 and two SA 7.62x51 battle packs. I have a Kahr CM9, and the recoil feels the same to me. |

I have both.
I have recently had a couple experiences of WWB getting caught under the feed ramp of my PM9. The PM9 has a significant gap in this area. The MK9 does not. The DA trigger pull of the MK9 is much nicer as well. A very nice, smooth DA pull that I wish the PM9 had. I wish my S&W 442 had the DA feel of the MK9. That said- the MK9 is a bit heavy for pocket carry compared to the PM9. |

I don't find the recoil from either to be very bad. I guess it's a little lighter in the MK9. The MK9 is a bit on the heavy side. For IWB, it's no big deal. For pocket carry, you really notice it. I wouldn't because I don't like the extra weight and width (grip panels on metal frame).

Owned the MK9. I've fired a buddy's PM9 a few times. Weight reduces recoil. Period. The PM9 is a fine shooting small 9mm though.

I think you'll end up not carrying the gun due to size.
Why not load it with 147gr Gold Dots? |

Bought a MK9 many years ago and it was a good shooting pistol.
That said, it always felt too heavy for for such a small pistol and I never carried it much because of that "feeling". Now I have a CM9 pistol and put just shy of 300rds thru it yesterday and it was 100%. It will become a pistol that I can pocket carry without issue. And probably will. |

I've carried an MK9 for 5 years.
I never pocket carry, and don't know why people do, GL getting to the gun fast enough. That said, I carry mine inside a kydex holster at 4 o'clock. The gun has been insanely reliable, very concealable, and is pleasant to shoot. Also more accurate than I am. |

Some people, like me, pocket carry because it is the best solution for my work environment or clothing choices. As far as speed, with pocket carry, you can already have a firing grip on the gun while it is in your pocket, and no one is the wiser. After that, the draw is quite fast. |

Load your PM9 with Gold Dot 147gr.
I have the PM9, and PM40, and after I loaded my PM40 with 180gr Gold Dots, the recoil is very light. I can hit an 8" plate at 20 feet with all five rounds. |
